2. Give her a gi and she starts looking like Ryu and Ken (headswaps)
I'd just like to point out that I don't think anyone is currently asking for Sakura to have a gi(mainly because she already does). Most people want to see her in the Gym Teacher outfit. Not trying to start another argument, just pointing it out.
Ah I see
I'm actually for a gym teacher-ish outfiit too (read the Sakura Grown Up thread where I was for it ages ago)
But yeah, the true difference is that getting rid of the school uniform is not necessary, she can always have either one as an alt.
What I don't understand is when supposed "Sakura fans" don't like her school uniform design
Many American Sakura fans may not like it today either
But Sakura is an original Japanese character, and I'm sure that in Japan they're thrilled that she kept her iconic look.
You really have to consider that
Would be hilarious of the Japanese fanbase started ROARING out how Guile needs a Commander/Captain look and a beard/mustache since he's been in the military for decades now.
Again I respect that American Sakura fans want a new costume for her, that's fine. But when they bash her iconic school girl look, it's like, what?
most Ridiculous thing I ever hear other than fanboy bickering, is from people about Poison.
The constant arguing over gender despite official word from both sides of the lake (Pacific Ocean=Lake, Atlantic ocean=pond : by the way), and then guys trying to protect their manlyness by saying they don't find her attractive...yeah right.
Also on the loli thing people had going on. Sakura isn't a loli-game character. She's dressed in the school girl fashion. In America we have something simular in the form of Catholic School Girl Uniforms worn by adults, and those who dress like cheerleaders. You can call it (teeny-bopper fashion) for adults.
a Loli-video game character tends to have the body build of a fifteen year old or younger, sometimes disturbinly younger looking, often with very young and childish mannerisms. and videogame and anime loli characters these days tend to get justified by having them be some ridiculous age/immortal.
some Examples:
Disgaea series: Flonne, Etna (both are over a thousand years old)
Darkstalkers: Lilith (300+)
ArTonelico series: Shurelia (700+), Mir/Jachli (700+), Frelia (700+). they also borderline with the character Misha in the first game who was an adult who got stuck in a child body for the first half of the game, and the second has some disturbing innuendo with an underage character named Corona (although the actual context isn't sexual its done in a sexual innuendo way).
so yeah Sakura isn't a loli character, she an adult wearing a teeny-bopper fashion.

So you see 3 normal threads, and a joke thread. I'm failing to see where I or anyone was shot down. The threads you listed are normal convo stuff. You could've just said "you know, i was just making stuff up, I don't really have any recollection of you being shot down". Or just do the obvious excuse "I'm not going to go through every thread to find proof." Either way, I'm bored. Its my fault really, right after I said we shouldn't feed you, I toss you a hoggie. I'm done.

Yeah, we know all that. We're not arguing it. We just think it was a stupid idea for a street fighter.
I don't get when people would say that the SFIII characters would be too young for SFIV. Doesn't SFIII take place four years after the events after SFII? And SFIV is in between that which is maybe only two years before SFIII. Seriously, what makes them think that they'll be too young if it's only two years before SFIII?
Stop the flame baits people. Some here are putting in words and things ahead which is not said by the another poster. Respect people to get respect, it's a game for people to enjoy not to create trouble for unity members.

I agree, in fact I wouldn't be surprise if the events of sf4 and 3 end up overlapping. It could take place one year before sf3 for all we know.
Makato wearing her late father's Gi shows how much respect she has for her father and his fighting style. she is honoring his memory by wearing the Gi. Also a Gi is a madatory for all karate practitioners even women. if makato show up in front of her dojo wearing a skimpy oufit she wouldn't be allow in. her grandfather would see a skimpy outfit as disrespectful.
And that's why she's the best female character in street fighter.

I think the biggest issue I have with Sakura are some of her fans. I've been accused of being culturally insensitive, ignorant, racist and even gay for even suggesting that Sakura is in part a fan-service character. I find many of the comments made by many hardcore Sakura fans to be either utterly hilarious or downright scary. I mean, look at the recent comments on the SSFIV developer's blog regarding the development of home console characters for SFIV:
Tsukamoto:
Well for me, when Sakura was added to the game, I was thinking, um, there's the Flower Kick, right? Her bloomers have to be visible when she does that move, but at first her skirt didn't flare up like it should. In Alpha, I think the name really fits the move, cause you're kinda fixated on it, thinking, "Open up more, just a little more!"... Or is that just me?
I mean seriously?! With a comment like this can anybody honestly argue that Sakura is not a fan service character? Apparently what would be seen as fan service in almost any other place on the planet is actually a deep-rooted cultural custom that I can't simply fail to comprehend due to my deep-rooted racism, ignorance and according to Scarecrow; apparent homosexuality.
