Didn't like Hayate. I love D.Dark and know he uses blades, but Hayate might be a bit much, dunno how they'd portray it in SFIV. Perhaps use black ink strokes and splats as blood. That's where the art style comes in handy.

I didn't much care for this character. Most of his moves had been ripped of from other characters (all Supers, counter moves) and his design screams blandness to me, as well as being only 20 something and taking on Garuda, a EX-superpower. Farfetched. Garuda is a terrific character design because of so many things. The shaky fighting stance, the spikes and the voice acting all make him look pure psychotic, as well as having a brilliant stage/ music littered with dragons. He has some cool tools to deal with Fireballers, fitting perfectly with his title and purpose. Fireballs look like wimpage to his ruthless spike attacks. All the while, he can fit into the roster without looking like a 'cheap gimmick', due to his pseudo-weapons. People may say he was ripped off from characters in stuff like Darkstalkers, but I see no comparison, or at least deliberate similarities. Whereas Garuda resembles the skeleton of Akuma, Bishamon is alot bigger of stature, muscular and much more robust. They barely share any characteristics beyond that. I guess I'm attracted to Garuda's design for the same reason I'm attracted to Q's - they both just seem to not care about themselves, Q flailing and throwing himself on the ground for his low heavy kick, while Garuda throws himself on the ground for his special move Goga, and penetrates his clothes for attacking. It doesn't matter to me personally that his design doesn't make sense in plenty of ways, and I never once got the impression the designers were trying too hard. |

Well nothing's going to get done if Capcom and Arika just sulk and moan about how mediocre those games were, someone's got to get the ball rolling. It could happen, you never know. :)
