Getting around certain characters with Akuma

Kay well i main akuma and most of the time online i have trouble with some characters


Zangief: His lariat will counter ANYTHING i do except maybe a demon flip, demon kick hitting him on top of the head where i can start a combo, but if i fireball or try to jump at him, i will get hit in the face by a lariat. Good zangief players will just spam it as soon as they see me coming, i do manage to sweep them when they are in lariat sometimes but other times it just trades hits, idk why.


 


Dhalsim: Yeah dont really know how to counter him because hes just a hit and run character with basically anyone who uses him online can just button mash and win really. Super annoying since i cant do anything vs his teleport and stretchy arms!


 


Yeah so does anyone have any ideas on how to get around these 2 characters? lol

Just these two characters? o.O wow you must be good. I also main Akuma and I have a hard time with Zangief too, here's what I do. Fireball spam, air fireball spam, demon flip to apply pressure and spam fireballs when I have done enough damage. Just stay away from him ... works for me... at times...


As for Dalslim.. I havent face him alot... When I do I just mostly use my teleport also just to mess him up :P

For Dhalsim, I find that busting out a shoryuken every now & then works wonders. It'll counter his punches or kicks even from the other side of the screen. That will knock him down so just rush him & apply pressure.


If he manages to create distance again, repeat. You'd finish him in no time.

Haha well blanka is also quite annoying to face off against because people generally just spam his ex roll to get around my fireballs but zangief/dhalsim are usually the two most difficult characters to face off against pretty much because a total noob can beat you using dhalsim just hitting and running. every other character otherwise is fair game maybe except sagat because he is ridiculously strong.

For all the dhalsim air teleport and hp whores this is the one, because thats all they do all you need to do is shoryuken and some lp's lol

You can try to bait Zangief.  If he does lariat a lot, do a short demon flip and cancel it with HP.  If he does lariat and you're close you can counter cr. MK into LK hurricane kick into Shoryuken, if he's a little further you can do cr. MK into HK hurricane kick or HK into cr. LP or LK into LK hurricane kick into shoryuken, etc.  At the right distance you can FA through it as well (you want his lariat to not hit you while charging FA, but then you pass into the lariat doing the ending frames of the FA.  It should only hit you once and then the FA knocks him out of lariat before the 2nd hit can get you).


If he does green hand or EX green hand, block and punish.


Also, jumping HK from the right distance beats out lariat but don't overuse it because you don't want to be in Zangief's face for too long (and with the right timing he might be able to beat it out or block and go for 360 throw).

Usually what i do is the demon flip rushdown. Throw in some combos while your in the rush.


A good 2 or 3 rushdowns will mess dhalsim up and stun him.


But try not to use it alot or the dhalsim player will begin to pick up your pattern.
