Guile believes he's alive and that makes him less likely to still be dead. Plus, need I bring up Resident Evil 5 and a certain B.S.A.A. member's status? |

If they bring him back for whatever reason, they need to spice up his moveset to make it different from Guile's.
(a one-armed Sonic Boom isn't enough) |

When Abel said to Guile, "That move, I've seen it before." It could be possible he was talking about Remy. |

He was referring to the former soldier that was taking care of him whom Guile thinks is Charlie. Remy wouldn't of even known Abel since he was a teen before SFIII if SFIV takes place before 1996. |

I would say judging by the sound of things, Charlie is alive, but it really all depends on if sfiv is canon or not. There are a few possibilities. -Guile's story in sfiv was canon, and ssfiv's storyline is going to be a step-for-step repeat of the previous plot, with a little more elaboration. -Guile's story in sfiv was canon, and ssfiv's storyline sees Guile looking for more information after the incidents in the last game. -Guile's story in sfiv will be overwritten by ssfiv (As Alpha's was by Alpha 2 and so forth) which has him looking for information as he did in the last game. The outcome is different this time. There seems to be more stuff pointing towards Charlie's survival rather than Charlie's death imo. It would be pretty lame if Guile is to have looking for his old master for his plot, and finding nothing at the end. Then again, I'd like that purely because it's not typical/ cliche, and I'd like to see some form of improvement of Capcom's writing staff. Unless there's a sequel after ssfiv, it's likely to be revealed in the next game.
Assuming sfiv takes place before Remy was of fighting age and Abel was taken care of long before sfiv, it seems a bit uncanny Remy learnt his maneuvers around 10 and abandoned his home at that early a age. Charlie showing Abel the Sonic Boom seems much more believable.
I was thinking since Cammy, Abel and the kid that was in Balrog's ending all have blonde hair and blue eyes they were all somehow connected, and the former soldier that took care of Abel was Wolfman. But it's alot more likely that it was Charlie since Abel talks about recognising the Sonic Boom. More likely that Capcom are suckers for blonde hair-blue eyes arians. |

In UDON comics, it was Charlie who saved Abel from a Shadaloo base. Then he leaves the injured Abel with a mercenary that he trusts (don't know the name). I think it's the same in the SF canon. And Charlie is pretty much alive by the sounds of the SFIV storyline. Edit: Oh, now that I think about it, UDON depicted the insides of the Shadaloo base in question as being on fire. I think that's the explosion from the SFA3 ending. Seeing as how Charlie managed to save him from the explosion and left him with the mercenary guy, I'm positive he's still alive. I always liked him better than Guile, they just have to do some tweakings to his moves to make him different (yet similar, as with Ryu & Ken) than Guile. |

Knowing Capcom its probably gonna be seperate from the comics, and just end up in its own storyline. I think Charlie is gonna be in the game (I think it was noted that 2-3 characters from SFIII and SFA, so Charlie could be on of them). I would love to see charlie in the game still, but with a unique movelist. |

As long as no one chimes in with "I think Charile is Abel and Abel is Charlie." then we should be fine :D
Ryu: "That's fine. Perhaps I can learn something worthwhile from your discipline. However, I won't lose. Let me show you the meaning of true strength."

For me, I'm really hoping that Shadaloo has Charlie. The idea of "Agent Shadow" seems pretty popular with fans, but it's never actually been in Street Fighter canon before. Only in VS. games and the comics.
I think it would be awesome to find that Charlie was recovered by Shadaloo at the end of Alpha 3(Bison would want him because Charlie is the one that supposedly finally defeated him), they repaired his body, and then brainwashed him like they did with Cammy and Ryu. And then when he returns, it's as Psycho-power enhanced, Shadaloo Agent Shadow. And Guile's storyline would revolved around trying to break Charlie free of his brainwashing. This would also explain why Able recognizes Charlies moves because Able was born in a Shadaloo lab, and perhaps Charlie was being held in the same lab. |
