Oh wow, is a similar moveset actually a GOOD reason not to include Charlie in SSF4? Look at all the shotos..Same Uppercut,Projectile, AND Spinning Kick. They're each difference by the amount of speed and power each has. The same goes for Charlie and Guile. Charlie is a way faster and stronger than Guile, plus he doesn't have that gay old double sweep kick. And for the people who always say "Charlie is just a copy of Guile", Charlie was the one who taught Guile his techniques, so who's really the copy?
I think they mean in terms of gameplay he is. But, if that was the case, I should be able to play Guile but I can't, yet I can play Charlie??
Charlie is obviously the copy, I doubt Capcom was thinking of Charlie when they designed Guile. And secondly Charlie is to Guile what Ken is to Ryu. I really don't want anymore characters like this but I can understand how people feel about it, being a Sakura user. Personally I think Remy is the better choice of three but like the story dictates, he isn't really old enough. Although in the same view, Charlie is obviously the one who saves Abel. I think it was clear that he is dead.

Charlie is as dead as Rose and Gouken was. I'm sure he's gonna be in Super 4, even if he isn't playable (like Guiles ending, saving him from dying in a explosion and helps him walk home).
I agree with what's been said and I'd love to see Charlie return, I loved the Charlie V Guile matches I had in A3. I also agree that he needs just a slight tweeking to give him just enough individuality. I like the shadaloo soldier idea but if he did actually help Abel escape the Shadaloo base he's not gonna be under Bisons influence....unless Bison wanted planned for Charlie to help "free" Abel to test his (Abel) abilities.

Charlie is great! And I don't think they made Abel Guile's rival just so as to finally reveal that he saw "that move" from Remy or some other unrelated (new) character. It definitely is Charlie after this point.
No I understand... It's just my opinion on his character. I am completely aware that if Charlie was in the game people would turtle with him just as much. Im just saying it would be less irratating dealing with Charlie vs dealing with Guile. Plus I kinda always liked Charlie's character design.
And as far as bringing him back in the game with Guile already in it, I think It would be a complete waste of a fighter slot. I'm completely baffled of the fact that I go through this forum and I see people asking for Dudley, Mike Haggar, Juni/Juli, etc... I don't understand it! I like Dudley as much as the next person but why would you even consider putting him in the game when hes just a non-charge version of Balrog. Please people if your gonna ask for more characters pick ones that are at least original. And PLEASE!!! absolutely "NO MORE SHOTOS"
Going back to the subject of Charlie... I'm still hoping he replaces Guile
While I see your point about Charlie/Guile and Cammy/Juli/Juni, I can't understand your position on Dudley or Mike Haggar. First of all, almost nobody is asking for Haggar. Second; it's not as if he's ever been in a SF title to begin with. Even if he were to make the cut, there is nothing to say that Haggar would play that similarly to Gief. In fact, given that his moveset would be pretty much be built from scratch it's easy to imagine his lariet and SPD having very different qualities than Gief's. The Dudley argument is even more baffling considering he is nothing like Balrog. Dudley has about as much in common with Balrog as Adon does with Sagat or Ibuki does with Guy. More often than not, this argument is used to justify the exclusion of a character certain fans don't want. Gamers who don't like Dudley use this fallacy to attempt to rationalize why Dudley shouldn't make the cut as they don't really have any other convenient arguments (story, DS freak etc.). Of course, then many will turn around and ask for Evil Ryu and Charlie.
