If they were going to give EX headbutt a way to go through fireball it would at least have to be a 1-hit shield added that way it could still be countered by EX fireballs.

Thats exactly what I'm talking about, I'm not calling for Ex head butt > Ex fireball.

Honda has plenty to work with but when compared to the arsenal of some of the tier 1 grapplers  Honda's at disadvantage.

I'd rather honda get some buffs as opposed to nerfing Gief and Sagat. (just examples not aguing they need it)

And the SF community should also weigh how much consideration online should get in balancing, were talking a frame studder and a decent FB spammer has just destroyed any advances you made.

Personally I'd argue none so that doesn't help my point.

Currently Honda is a snooze fest to play because you spend every match running from fireballs with few exchanges.

Ex Headbutt would speed up the action,  I hope SSFIV tones down the turtling and this would be a good tweak in that direction for Honda.

I agree that Honda needs a better way around fireballs but the EX headbutt wouldn't work.  The EX headbutt does a ton of damage (160), so capcom would have to nerf the damage and the speed of it (it comes out really fast too).

He doesn't really need it but I still think it would have been cool if he could head butt projectiles back at you.

I think what I'm trying to say is I'd like Rufus to have a projectile so I don't have to chase people all over the screen, but it ain't gonna happen.  He has enough other options, can't have everything.

You dont mean that.... chasing your opponent around is half the fun with Rufus... except when its Seth.... or Sagat....

What?  You regularly play games where it lags so much you can't get over a fireball?  And since when have fireballs done enough damage to completely turn a fight around?

I really disagree with that.  The opposite is more likely.  Right now fireballs are one of the few things that force a Honda to actually move.  You watch fights between Hondas and characters without projectiles and you end up with Hondas backing or sitting in place.  With the ability to bypass fireballs entirely Honda could just sit back, whiff ochio throw, and go for EX Headbutt through fireball.  Get in one good headbutt and the Honda can take his life lead and sit back, waiting for the opponent to come to him because of his ability to counter people trying to get in close with his high-priority normals as well as his headbutt and butt-stomp.

In the end, nothing changes except now Honda doesn't have to get through fireballs to deal damage, which was the only thing keeping Honda from being completely defensive in SFIV in the first place.

I regurally encounter suspicious lag after starting on a green bar immediately and only after making a full advance on a FB spammer which goes away after they escape.

It's probably paranoia getting the best of me but thats different topic.

I shouldn't be able to hop on Sagat/boxer/shoto and play substantially better than my main Honda considering how long I've played him.

I'm more familiar with honda than any of the mentioned above but my win/loss ratio wouldn't reflect that.

Reality is online your going to be playing a god tier point munchkin 9 out of 10 matchs, honda's at a heavy disadvantage in this scenario.

I think the Jab Headbutt > Fireball was over powered in IIHDR but a limited option really fleshs the character out especially in a faster game. (assuming SSFIV will be faster)

Make Jab EX headbutt > Regurlar fireball then you can keep strong/fire ex headbutt the same speed.

When you look at the list of character that can straight pimp slap a fireball numerous ways it's not much and it worked fairly well in HDR.

This could be fixed a few different ways,  Make the other non-projectile characters as easy to pin as Honda or bring Honda up their level.

I think it just go's to show you how very much the mods know about the game and how very little people like me know. Well boys and girls I just got learned, time to go play more. I think Honda is far too complex for me. Maybe they should let Sirlin come back and remix this game as well?  What you say Capcom are you ready to be yelled at by a part time employee again?

I disagree that allowing Honda thru fireballs will make him more defensive.  If anythining it will make me atleast more offense orientated. There are other moves that have priortity over the headbutt and if blocked he can be punished.  But Balrog(Boxer) Buffalo Headbutt goes through fireballs. Blanka's EX Roll goes through fireballs. Why is Honda the only charge character that doesnt have a one move fireball counter?  And Fireballs alone can't win you a match against a good Honda player but there have been times against a close or evenly matched player his lack of options can tip the scale against you.

Common sense is the least common of all senses.

Found the list that SRK sent to Capcom for SSFIV changes, and it seems that pretty much most of the players there don't think that allowing Honda to go through fireballs on EX headbutt would be a good idea.

Honda
-Most Honda players agree ex headbutt shouldn’t go through fireballs.
-All agree ultra startup needs to be improved and headbutt to go over low tigers.
J.Chen suggests (with Mike Ross's approval):
-Ex butt drop to be controllable on the way down. Only let it be guidable if you hold left or right, but NOT if you hold down + left or down + right. That way, you can't charge up for another Butt Slam if you plan on drifting it, and if you go backwards, you can only charge for the Headbutt.
-slightly faster headbutt
-ex.oichio same damage as fierce oicio and slightly more range
-F.hk and cr.hp to knock down.
-
Buk Suggests:
-Hands to move Honda further forward.
