What is the actual canon storyline around Akuma, Goutetsu and Gouken? I red that Goutetsu started the martial art with the intent on killing, and that Gouken left that dojo. Akuma returned and killed his master and his master wwas happy about it.
However. I dont see that information actually linked to any actual word from capcom or and endings in SF games. It seems to me just as inof that people THINK is canon because they heard its so from somewhere.
Actual information about it would be nice?
(And I wanna know what happened to Gouken now that he lives again, was better when he was dead...I think they should kill off Bison once and for all and I want more resolution :). My rant is over!)

Hi Wouldnt,
Goutetsu did start the art with the intent on killing, and both brothers (Gouken and Gouki) eventually left his side. Gouki did return to kill his master, but we don't know how Goutetsu felt at that point in time. The Gouken you see in SF4 is actually an artificially-made imposter. Gouken was killed by Gouki shortly after SF1.
This is actual info from various Japanese sources straight from Capcom Japan. The points you brought up are revealed within coverages of the Street Fighter Zero series, more specifically Zero 1 and Zero 2.

Since this is brand new info (relative to older storyline elements) and sounds completely off-the-wall, I would be interested to hear the capcom source that says he's an artificially-made imposter.
Last I heard it was just you in a thread somewhere infering it from in-game "hints" and I didn't realize we had an actual capcom source on that one yet. Since that must have just happened it should be easy to cite the source.
Street Fighter IV The Complete Guide catalogs all of the game's win quotes which reveal around half of the crucial puzzle pieces. The rest come from the prologues and endings of the game itself. Those are your two sources. For links to the translations on shoryuken.com check unrealman's postings in the Character Discussion thread under the Street Fighter IV forums.

I see, so it comes from interpreting "puzzle pieces" and not from a plain statement by capcom that Gouken is an imposter?
Thanks for the clarification on how subjective this is.
damn that sucks. I though Gouken survived. If he's an imposster I think that's just bad story writing from capcom.
