If you're like me, and after eight years of playing, finally decided to change over by picking up one of those sweet Madcatz stick (with those even nicer sanwa parts), you probably also noticed you suck and it feels nothing like the arcade you love.

Well, I fixed that problem. I found a youtube tutorial that just used electrical tape around the plastic piece that goes over the top hat in order to better sensitivity. Secondly, I picked up some springs from Home Depot, and combined one with the piece I already had to double it's tension. Wow. The difference is amazing.

Anyway, I love it. Totally worth eating the warranty.

The biggest motion difference I noticed was the ability to jump and immediately do Ken's spin kick to take him off like a helicopter. Perfect.

Neat-o! Would you be able to link? I've got a standard edition stick that I put some sanwa buttons in. Thank fully, I didn't have the washer issue to worry about. :D

I was glad he was dead. His chair was more comfortable than mine. I took his chair.

Dunno about you, but the Sanwa sticks on the TE and HRAP feel just like the arcades I know and love. Then again, I've been playing on Sanwa sticks for over 15 years now.

I support a new (or remixed) Darkstalkers game!

You boosted tension, on the stick? That thing is stiff enough as it is. If anything it might be a little too stiff (though I'll reserve my judgement untill I've put in enough hours to sufficently break it in).

Now the buttons on the other hand, I could see where someone (by that I mean me), would want to stiffen the springs. I miss hearing (and feling) the click-clack from the stiff springs local opperators had to put in the SF:II cabs I played on so when kids Hulk-smashed the machines, they would still function.

However, I digress, the TE is good enough that I see no reason to go under the hood. If it ain't broke and all that.

If you wanted American style stick with the bat and the tension a HAPP stick provides, you probably should have just ordered a custom with a HAPP stick/buttons

Only game you need extra tension for is MvC2 since most of the tricks there were created on a stiffer Happ/IL Comp stick (which does allow the stick to return to neutral faster).

As for the buttons, the more sensitive Sanwa's are perfect for doing double taps and hyakuretsu-ken style moves without hurting your fingers. That said, if you find them to be too sensitive, you can switch them out for Seimitsus.
