When I play Ken against Akuma, I feel like I'm completely broken off from controlling any of the zoning thanks to Akuma's retreat-air-haudoken spam. Heck, he even does this in the air coming at me.
I feel like it's hard for me to set the pace for the battle like I want to when there are so many Akumas doing this. Any advice? |

Do you use the focus attack often?

You think a focus then dashing out of it would be a good choice? I guess my only risk, then, would be if he has super meter saved up for the ex. |

When I think about it, Ken doesn't seem to have many options against that playstyle that I know of. I main Bison and I know, the EX Headstomp, EX Psycho Crusher, and he's slide all work very effectively, not to mention he has a teleport.

Step kick from the start can get you in quick, also timing a hadouken for when he is about to land also gives you some time. I found a lot of Akuma's to be a bit too predictable with their playstyle, dont be affraid to try new things. It isnt an easy match up but I wouldnt try and Zone Akuma with Ken.

Your towards forward can get u in close and quick. Focus is an option as well, and it's something you can do on reaction. Even if it's ex air FB, only one reaches you unless he does it right above your head, so dash back if it's ex and dash forward if it's normal. |

Ken's kara-focus closes the distance real fast.
Give us Monster Hunter 3!

Also remember, when you get close; Stay close! You don't want him to escape. |
