Here are some mockups I am doing for an Xbox Live arcade release of 3s.

How i would like to see it.

basically it's redrawn: hit/special Effects,all Bars, Screens and Menus.

original with crisp filter: Character Frames and Stage Backgrounds (not shown/done)

Please try to ignore any crapness in the redrawing and try to imagine how it could look if capcom had done it instead.

This is my first go at any 2d game type work/hd redrawing.

i use hor+ with invisible walls as the basis of the widescreen mode.
here is an example to show why:

i think vert- looks totally RUBBISH.

i wish capcom would add something like that for sf4 the 3d stages loo much better in 4:3 mode but i dont want just balck bars on the side of my screen.

Grade System Idea

here is my idea for the grading system for this game to replace the BP or CP of sf4.
it is based around the idea of winner stays on.

everybody starts at rank.1
to move up a rank you must beat somebody to 'take' their rank.

eg
a rank.1 beats a rank.3
the rank.1 becomes a rank.3

the rank.3 suffers no demotion.

if you fight somebody of a lower rank and win you get nothing.

if you fight somebody of the same rank and win you get a star.
if you fight somebody of the same rank and lose you lose a star.
up to a maximum of ten to rank up by one.
or to a minumum of 0 where you stay.

stars don't carry over ranks.

eg

rank.1 - 9* beats a rank.3 - 4*
the rank.1 - 9* becomes  rank.3 (no stars)

if you have stars and lose to a lower rank you lose all your stars.
if you have stars and win against a lower rank your stars stay the same.

if you disconnect you lose all your stars.

there is no 'mamixum' rank.
it tries to match you with ranks closest to your own aiming upwards.

PS

After buying king of fighters 12 (i did these a while before that) i realise this would be pretty much on par with how they did that game.

i think that shows it could be a worth while idea.

Awesome! Nothing wrong with the 3S sprites and bg graphics. Changing the HUD however does give the game a new-ish sheen to it - makes it feel fresh!

I support a new (or remixed) Darkstalkers game!

This is amazing! Surprised

Please post this in the Ask Capcom section. Let it get more exposure.

That's awesome work. I wouldn't mind seeing a 3rd Strike HD Remix on PSN.

WTF is a "Spyro Bubble"?? Change that **** to English!

SF4: Gen, Bison (Dictator), Akuma
SSF4: Above + Dee Jay, Adon, Cody, Dudley?...
Tekken 6 (when I get it): Steve Fox, Lei Wulon, Kazuya Mishima

Honestly... This is incredibly awesome and I'd love to play it. Day 1 purchase for sure. That said, I'd LOVE to see SF3 in any way shape or form on PSN, Live or even a re-released disc with multiplayer included on the ps3 version and good netcode for the xbox version. With all the restored hype of fighters with SF4, capcom can grab more cash from an existing game, and we can all get a version of SF3 we can really fight it out with online, as we've been doing with SF4. C'mon capcom pleeeeeease???

I really like this idea. 3rd Strike's artwork is still pretty awesome, and I like the idea of still use it (instead of redrawn it). On the characters, I think we can solve that with a good filter, but the stages needs to be redrawn to use it (just clean them a little and make them HD). All the menu's updates look real good.

I'll love to see Capcom make this game for Xbox Live and PSN.

Good stuff! Your new HUD and character graphics would look great on top of the original sprites in a re-release

Awesome! Now if only Capcom would decide to finally release SFIII in PSN and XBox Live Arcade. Laughing
