FEEL THAT HYPE? I don't anymore.

Fans here killed the hype for me with all the constant whinning and demand for "x" characters to be revealed. Or implying that Capcom owes them "x" characters for whatever delusional reasons they can come up with. Those reasons and their belief that if their own predictions don't come true then they'll be mad because it should have been.

In general though there's not enough official news stating whether or not we'll be getting things like features, or backgrounds, etc.  to get my excited enough about the game since the first announcement. Too many "We're trying" or "We hope" from the developers right now. I'll hold off for those lame announcements of really big announcements.

Only thing I'm hyped for is more of those high quality promotional trailers.

Yeah, totally.

I was pretty shocked to hear a few days ago people talking about character reveals at Fight Club. I have no idea where they got that assumption.  & then today a few people talking about how Fight Club was a failure because such announcements weren't made.

That sort of thing kills the hype for me when people expect things that weren't even hinted at.

Currently Playing: King of Fighters XII, Street Fighter IV, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Resident Evil 5

Coming Soon: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Super Street Fighter IV, Dead Rising 2, Lost Planet 2, Bayonetta, Dark Void, Monster Hunter Tri

Maybe they just know something we don't, I'm not sure. Those magic 8 balls usually does wonders I suppose. Then when it's wrong, I sit here and have to scroll through pages upon pages of "Man Capcomed is so effed up" or "I'm so disappointed in Capcom" replies just to read something just slightly interesting or is actually news that matters.

The Fight Club is actually a big deal, because the next one will surely have another big announcement since even if there isn't a big gaming event they can use those as a mini game event to promote not just SSFIV but their upcoming/current fighting games. I didn't think the event was huge but I thought it was important. Plus it showed a bit more gameplay and allowed fans to try it before the press even got to. I'm wondering if people would have thought otherwise if they got to go to the event. I mean I didn't but I thought it was pretty good and was a good setup for news to come. Sure, the game was already revealed and so were those characters but there wasn't nearly enough gameplay footage and we found out more about the character's abilities even if they might get tweaked in the final release. It was also a good way to get feedback from fans instead of hiding in secret lab testings so that's always good cause people want to know.

Reading those comments, or having to constantly scroll through them all in order to find something interesting makes me want to avoid most of the threads here and has killed most of my interest.

On the official SSFIV discussion thread, I used to read every post. now I just skip to the last page in order to see if there's been an update.

I agree, though, people are demanding a lot of characters. I do feel that if Ono-san gives a few representational characters from each series, though, then that, in itself, is worth a salute.

I guess some details aren't exciting to me: rebalance. Yeah. Who wasn't expecting this one as well?

To be honest, I'm a little nervous over the new ultra set ups and all that jazz. When I practice I'm thinking "Am I doing this for nothing? Will this set-up that I'm working so hard on the timing for be worthless in a few months?" Rebalances are fine and all, I just want to keep a little feeling of familiarity (asside from the engine).

yea and how about all the arguements that have been going on amongst members in the forum. Arguing about price, content, characters, rumours, etc. That's what kills it the most. You can't relax and talk about new info these days, instead you get in a fight for no reason regarding nonsense lol. As a mod, i'm sure you've witnessed this all too well.

Personally, I kinda wish I wasn't hyped right now. It's a waste of time looking for new info and keep anticipating what's coming next. Then you start imagining how the game would turn out amazing if it got this and this or you start worrying if they ruined the balance or changed the game too much lol I'd rather be hyped one month before release but now that I've been following every little thing regarding ssf4 I don't know if I can stop.

The hype will come back again when they announce the new characters.

Im in a terrible financial situation barely supporting myself. I should be out there doing something more productive or entering fighting tournaments and beating people for cash :)

So because of money issues, in the end, I was not able to go for the train to make it to Fight Club. I 'was' really expecting to see new New characters.

That would have been a great opportunity to release new characters, but I guess the idea was to let us test drive THawk and Juri. I hope they present te new characters together and not 1 by one. I want to be able to think "Which one out of all these guys do I want to use and main first?" 8 Characters is worth the upgrade, but hopefully they present them in the right way to maintain hype.

Fight club was a failure for many reasons, none of which had to do with character reveals.

And I'm with PG, the whining on this forum is a constant wear.  People on this board kill hype.  Lucky for me I don't feel that I am entitld to instant gratification like some people on this board so my hype will be at its highest when I am walking home with the game in my hand.

SF4 *IS* awesome despite its flaws, SSF4 will be awesome despite whatever flaws it may have when released.

1- You don't how avanced is the characters development to judge about when they will have to be showed...

2- You'r assuming that does not exist characters from 3's/Final fight without knowing if they are working at them or not...

3- You know already we would have: new online modes (lobbys, replays also), new offline modes, around 8~10 characters, new stages, prob'ly bonus stages and all that info on the fisrt month? so, WTF are you complaining?

3- Still left 6 months to the game release, they can't bring all the info NOW or ppl will lose interest before the release date (also they can't show things prob'ly are not finished).

Stop making conclutions w/o knowing for sure what they want to do, when or how... SFIV is/was an awesome game and this would be better for sure, got patience and lets see what happens on the next days/months...
