As long as I understand the fact that a cross company VS game should have characters from many different franchises of each company, I don't think there should be just 1 SF character and just 1 FF character, either, since those are definitely the mainstream franchises. 4 or 5 each side should do, as long as they're not all clones (shotos and Final Fantasy protagonists... Dissidia style) and as long as you get many other characters from other games. SF - Ryu (obviously) SFAlpha - Sakura (and with this, we close the shoto quotes) SFII - Chun-Li (or "Dictator") SFIII - Yun (or Alex) SFIV - C. Viper (blends well with some Square-Enix settings) FFIV - Cecil (both a Paladin and a Dark Knight... he would look awesome in a fighting game) FFVI - Terra (female token, she transforms into a magical creature; also... best game ever) FFVII - Sephiroth (THE Big Bad) FFX - Wakka (very original fighting style) FFXII - Vaan (quick, agile fighter type)

Yeah, I think it would be a great idea. Both are big in Japan. And stages could be awesome, unlike in dissidia. But what I tried to avoid is too many characters from one series, and like Red Blaze said we need some RPG love in this. Thats why I went for their RPG games. I even forgot to mention that Megaman should be the megaman from X command mission. If we have Chun-Li we NEED Tifa. I'm saying that now. Two fatal females against each other would be perfect for the fans. |
