it wouldnt fit in SF world, projectiles are an important part of the game.

if only, Sagat Tiger Shots damage should be a bit nerfed, but thats all.

Didn't the Art Of Fighting series have something like that?

Perhaps Capcom should go one step further and simply have an attack gauge.  After performing five attacks you must wait 30 seconds for it to refill.  This feature would ensure that every character is absolutely useless essentially making SSFIV the most balanced fighter in history.  Better yet, why not simply remove every attack from the game.  Characters could simply walk, dash or jump at each other to earn style points.

HAHAHAHA! I want to frame that.

Here's the perfect idea! JUST ADD PARRY! In SF3 fireball spamming was NOT at all an issue. Anybody with a half a brain can would just parry your projectile, jump in and wipe the floor with you. Heck they even had a MINIGAME that helped you practice parrying by parrying Sean's basketball!!! Seriously Capcom should add parrying, that way advanced players who ACTUALLY want to learn can use it, and noobs can just use the focus attack, problem solved. If SF IV had parrying do think I would waste my time spacing against Sagat? HELL NO, I'd just parry away and get up in there! YAH! That would teach them to think twice about fireball spamming for the whole match, SF3!!!!

Yes, because we all know how scrubby it is to do a successful turn punch or hooligan combination past a fireball. Tapping forward is SO hardcore. Let's assign ultras to single-button presses while we're at it.

Only scrubs think 3rd Strike is the best Street Fighter of all time.

You know what beats spamming?  Knowing what beats said spammed move.

Have you played SF3? Parrying is what made the game FUN. Yes it was easy to parry projectiles (which is a good thing) But it took SKILL to master in the heat of battle when BOTH players were up close. Plus dont you want to put an end to fireball spamming because it's flat out BORING. SF3 it was fun watching people counter each other's moves like a REAL martial arts fight. Focus attack is just a slowed down boring version of it.

Here's a better idea. play street fighter instead of a game without fireballs you made up in your head.

When playing streetfighter for example, you don't stand there and eat fireballs all day like an idiot.

Character in my Avatar (AKA GROARK) for SSFIV, HURRR!!1!

There were fireballs in SF3, in case you didn't know. Plus parrying looked cool and made the match more exciting instead of just countering the fireballs with your fireballs. Seriously people make up this crap, " it's spacing" SO THAT'S BORING. I understand the focus attack was to be a some what effective counter attack so it would be easily accessible to the casual player, plus most people think that parrying is hard. But it really isn't plus it makes the game more EXCITING. Seriously I'd rather just get in their and parry away so I can combo them up close instead of scrambling to think up a strategy to get past the stupid projectiles. Obviously this guy started the thread because he has come across A LOT of sagat and ryu spammers, and has probably gotten tired of seeing so many tiger shots and hadokens. I dont mind the projectiles but make a better counter system. Parrying plz.

Parrying was a broken mechanic that needed to be removed.

All you need to do is press forward to completely erase an attack. With a bit of practice, you can parry entire supers without taking a lick of damage.

Focus Attacks are way better because you take the damage you absorb, but it grows back. You can't focus entire supers either. Parrying favors defensive play while focus evens it out for defensive & offensive players.

You can just just parry a whole match if you wanted to without any penalty. That's what I call boring.

You seem to go around the forums completely hating on things you don't like & asked them to be removed entirely. How about some constructive criticism? If you don't like something, how about suggesting a way to improve it instead of whining & asking for it to be removed? People can take you seriously if you offer ways to improve something instead of you asking for things that you you specifically have trouble with. Fireballs are nothing. You can jump, you can focus, you can EX through them most of the time, you can Ultra through them, other moves erase them, etc.

There's no reason to get rid of focus attacks. It's better than parries in every way.
