lol I knew that some people would disagree with me in here. But I will ask you to stay correct.

First I didn't insult anyone (I was hard with seth character designer, but he went too far :p), and I am very gratefull for the work they are doing. I am expressing a point a view that isn't only my own.

I'll give you that another way. I don't care about new characters (as a matter of fact the character that I like are all in this one). I don't care about the story mode (SF4 story mode was lame, but it took me 3 hours to finish it all, the real deal is playing with people). but as good as SF4 might be there are several gameplay and balance problems, and I want that to be improved (and I assure you I'm not the only one).

I think that this should be a DLC, and that we should have the choice between free content (all the fighting system upgrades), and the rest.

This thread sucks. I didn't read the whole thing properly. but from the title alone. You demand with out respect for the hard work put into making thise game. If you were a fan you'd learn to appreciate and understand and not just demand and complain. If you can make a better game free of charge in a small amount of time, then i would like to see you try. Otherwise shut your mouth and be reasonable. everything cost money to make and deliver. Even DLC cost Bandwidth so don't act like you're right and you know what's best.

You seem to be a rude imbecile, so I'm just gonna ignore you.

Another thing to remember is that it probably won't be out til Spring, so what we are seeing right now is just a teaser. By then, you will get a better idea of what Super Street Fighter IV really has to offer. There will be more updates on the way.

That's true, and I hope so. I'm just afraid that the gaming industry is trying to sell things they shouldn't.

For the love of sanity! How can  be a joke?????? How can DLC be any better???

Just think for a second:

* 8-10 possible new characters

* possibly enough new stages to represent all fighters in the game (which is A LOT)

* new music

* new moves

* new ultras

* gameplay tweaks and additions

* new online modes

etc

You think all this comes for ? Is that all you think its worth? And how on Earth will it be more convinient to be offered as DLC when it will be such a HUGE update? You think people with lesser internet connections can afford to spend hours and hours downloading all this?

Honesttly this subject ticks me off big time, reading comments of people bitching over this in every single website as if Capcom releasing SSF IV for merely  on a physical disk, cover, package and all, is a rip off.

I don't agree

I find your answer interesting so I'm going to explain why it should be DLC. What you are refering to doesn't appeal to everyone. And some of those should be free.

for example:

* 8-10 possible new characters: I don't care, I have My favorite (I can be DLC that some would like to buy)

* possibly enough new stages to represent all fighters in the game (which is A LOT): I don't care.

* new music: I don't care (Just delete the theme song)

* new moves: should be free

* new ultras: should be free

* gameplay tweaks and additions: game be DLC

* new online modes: should be free

So tell me again how  for  SSFIV is  rip off? The DLC costumes for SFIV were a rip off.   for 8 to 10 characters new story, endings, improved online, more backgrounds, more moves etc. in SSFIV is hardly a rip off. Once I heard about all the additions I expected it to be full price to be honest. The new features in SSFIV are like jumping form SF2 to SSF2 Turbo. Besides a physical copy is always preferable to DLC.

Hey pal we're not in the 80's anymore. That time was a complete rip off. The DLC costume were not, you don't like them, you don't buy them. It's simple. The problem here is that it will impact those who play SF4. They will stop working on it, so no more improves, less online quality, less players... So it's either you pay to keep what you had or you loose.

They are basically in the samed boat.

Yeah of course an action adventure game and a fighting game can be compared...

Or how about FIFA, Pro Evolution Soccer + every annual sporting title or Guitar Hero versions. I guess they figure that team and song licences justify paying full retail price for each yearly update (in the case of GH 5 times a year?)

I agree, and I don't buy those games.

well, taking into accout you took your time to write this thread, ill give you my opinion.

mate, SSFIV developers are working HARD to release SSFIV with the most content possible next spring.

that means a full developers team working several months in a game with a tigh schedule, and you want the game for free??

ok, i know you didnt say that, but you should think about it again. 40 dollars is ok if CAPCOM devs are really going to deliver what most people are expecting from them (between 8 and 10 new chars, new ultras, new stages, new intros/endings, new online, new single player modes...).

of course, if they fail and release a lazy expansion with few content, i will agree with you, but until then, you dont really know and you are hating them without a valid reason!!

on the other side, i understand your point about Rufus. Other people can find Fuerte offensive too (mexican people), but i would tell you (and your brother) that it is just a game, they dont want to offense anybody. Rufus in fact is a fast and agile char. If he were slow and clumsy you would be right... anyways, dont take it so seriously (obesity is a serious disease though, i would suggest to address it with psychological and dietary advice as soon as possible).

lastly, SFIV project was close to never see the light. Its no so easy as you think, CAPCOM took some risk with SFIV, and they are taking more risk again with SSFIV (because it will probably will not sell so many units as the first one because of the nostalgia effect is already gone, and now only the fans will buy it).

so, please, support it. I honestly think it really deserves it, although we will see that in spring 2010...

Wow pal, I'm really not hating them. You don't know me, if I hated them, I wouldn't be here. I thin they did a great job. Really, and I'd like that success to keep going. I think it's a problem for many people to see a 40$ extension one year after a game is out.

I'm sorry people but it's true, there are several gameplay problems in the game, when you are serious about you game you correct that first. The stuff in SSSF4 should be implemented in sf4.

And since I don't spend my life in here, I read this interview yesterday, so I commented about it today.

You can have a look around, you'll see that this 40$ is a matter for a lot of people, because it's feels like this a great part of those improves should be given as an upgrade for SF4.

What I see is the inability of some people to care about other. If this was a DLC you would have to pay for the parts that you like, and everyone would have the core improves that should be free. I can't understand how it can be a problem.

ah man...why bother to continue this conversation in this thread???

its pretty uselless u know.

many guys in here speaks some very good things about why the prefer a new disc instead of DLC.

and they are absolutely right.

its by far the best choice to be this game in a brand new disc than a DLC.

if they launch it as a DLC probably will cost much more than 40$.

think only the money that costumes costs.

and ofcourse i think we have to congratulate them for how fast are they going to launch it.March and 40$ is divine!

also, it seems that the first idea was releasing some DLC, but then they realized it was a better idea to release a new disc because of the amount of content they were planning.

specially, it seems the new online mode wasnt possible to add as DLC. at least, thats what i listened...

SSFIV and SFIV are indeed quite different games (if we believe CAPCOM about the new content). You are not just adding some side modes, you are changing the core of the game, so the best solution is to release a "new" game.

of course, i can be wrong and all that content (and new online) could have been released with a huge DLC, but i doubt it...

There are a couple of price point threads open, I don't see a reason for this thread. On top of that, it seems like the idea is not going well with the community.

I'm locking this.
