Ken's never really looked funny to me. Ryu on the other hand looked like a complete retard and I'm glad they tweaked it somewhat. Now if they did a pass over and made everyone look more sleek that would be great. Some of them just look tooooo bulky to be agile, Ken included.

Im liking the improvements. The models are based on Ikeno's designs. Ikeno is an amazing artist but in his concept art he drew the shoulders a bit goofy and deformed. Even body builders with huge huge shoulders, well their shoulders dont look like that.

I think graphical fixes on characters are interesting and while they arent enough to make you buy a new installment just on their own, they DEFINITELY sweeten the deal.

Honestly there's nothing wrong with the muscle mass of the characters, they've almost always been that way if you look at the official artwork over the years.

The thing that makes it more noticable in SF4 is the character heights, ie nobody is tall but rather squished down.

A perfect example is SF3...

...Ryu is still very muscular there, however the more elongated style of SF3 hides it better. SF2 The Animated Movie is the same way in that the characters are all very muscular, but also very tall.

The thread is mainly about Ken face, the muscle proportion thing was to say that we can yet seen some little graphical improvement in SSF4

Said this,i will be ok if they(like they have do for Ryu) make a little bit less pumped Ken,Fei Long and Vega/Claw.

Honestly, there' s nothing wrong with the size of the muscles, you're right. But its not about the size that I was talking about...

I said in my post that its not the size but the deformity of the muscles. I think big muscles look good on many of the characters, but if they point out in an awkward un natural way, I dont find that very aesthetically pleasing. They know this and that's why they fixed it, not to make the Ryu's size more realistic or just smaller.

Heres an example with Guile:

There are bodybuilders and strongmen out there whose muscles are the same size (maybe even bigger) as Guile's here. But the human body, when you grow those muscles out, doesnt point the muscles in that awkward direction. The human body's shoulder muscles grow out more naturally, like in the art Nishimura you posted. Do you get what Im saying?

I don't understand who are this developers it appears that they never played sf games or maybe they think that we have no knowledge of the history of sf.Ken always had hazel eyes I don't know why the hell they gave him a pair of blue contacts on sf4, Ryu looks like jay leno's cousin and gulie looks like the commando from the movie 'small soldiers'.

Hasn't Ikeno always drawn Ryu that way?

I support a new (or remixed) Darkstalkers game!
