The assumption that someone can't beat a move just because they think it's cheap is really beyond old.

It applies in the VAST MAJORITY of cases. (maybe not in yours, but you *were* the only one who felt the need to answer)

I've got 1,000,000 hate msgs calling me cheap and not a single one of them was from someone who could beat me.

They are usually about things that are actually really easy to beat if you take any time at all trying to learn.

i send hate mail to people i beat all the time just trying to get them to improve their game. the main ones are the constant grabbers i love sending them mail when i win. they either dont answer or say "you  won y even bother talkin s***". and my reason is simple, grabbing is for when in tight situations but for someone to just walk up to me and blatantly grab is so unexpected lol. and i just expect more skill from g1 players i guess. I also play in a bi-weekly tourney with quite skilled players and they dont rely on grabbing much so i guess im spoiled by good players but to be beaten by random grab spammers gets a little old on champ mode. its to the point where i see myself grabbing waaaaay more than i used to just trying to tech the other player. im soooo happy they are  fixing the grabbing in ssf4 this way it will be less reliable and we shall she who the real skilled players are.

You send hate mail to people trying to get them to improve.. Wow i'm not even gonna comment on that one.

Sorry, but where in the SFIV instruction manual does it specify grabbing is only for tight situations. Who told you think coz whoever did is probably retarded. There are no rules in SF except beat the other dude down till he's life bar reaches 0.. This means, BY ANY MEANS POSSIBLE! People like you really annoy me. You make up fake rules in your head and then say people don't have skill when they go against your imaginary rules. If your allowing people to grab you then why should they stop? Coz it don't look cool or flashy? Pft... I HK people to death with Bison and I get hatemail for it all the time, and you know what them people are called... "Scrubs", and that my boy is what you sound like to me. There is a such thing as throw teching you know. So for you to turn around and say stuff like this makes you sound like a scrub... There's no rules in SF, just to beat the other guy.. The people that try to look flashy, half the time in high level play get there **** handed to them.

I'm not the kinda guy to talk to others like this which most of the unity members that know me here should know.. But this is the first time I think i've raged at such a stupid comment.

People who think pros don't use a lot of grabs at times should watch some of Daigo's 3rd strike matches (he uses Ken and loves his repeated grab tricks).

"for someone to just walk up to me and blatantly grab is so unexpected lol" Then isn't that a good reason to use it?  Do things the opponent doesn't expect to catch them off guard can be an effective strategy.

I suddenly remembered that 3S match from SBO where someone shouted LET'S GO JUSTIN! and then Justin Nuki just up and walk forward+throws Kokujin's Urien for the win.

lol, link?

I've seen matches end that way.  Opponent gets psyched out or shuts down, starts blocking, or straight-up just doesn't see it coming.

The thing I find most humorous is that there is someone letting people walk up on him and throw him and instead of feeling like a noob... he denigrates their skill level...

PRICELESS

Almost every high level player, I know, will on occasion pull this crap as a severe mixup. I do it too. Every time it happens to me or any other "good" player I know we laugh at ourselves/smack ourselves in the face (sumo style) for falling for it/not being prepared for it.

I guess the best way to put this is:

Doesn't it seriously make you stop and wonder what he thought people were gonna say?

"Ah dang man. Those punks walked up and threw you too? What the heck man? Why does everybody suck so bad? I mean for reals mang. Those sorry pieces of crap tricked you into taking a dirt nap too? If only everybody was as good as me they wouldn't need to walk up and throw!"

Hey look I found a picture of stephan from his school yearbook!
