Putting Bison back in his place...

So I know our new boss is "Seth", but I feel Bison should get his thrown back in SSFIV. I mean he's still Seth's boss in the movie, and in the game and Udon comic's he answers to Bison as well.

While Seth is cool... wait... while Seth is cheap and pisses everybody off... And while Juri seems neat, I think the Boss should again be the Boss.

Either that, or Boss mode characters like in Soul Calibur IV when Ivy fights Nightmare while the rest of the characters fight that other dude...

I think final boss characters would be neat.

Ken - Ryu (His greatest rival)

Ryu - Akuma

M. Bison - Seth

Sakura - Dan

Dan - Sagat (I know this sounds wrong, but the storyline is Canon...)

Akuma - Gouken

You guys get the idea... But I prefer the boss being the All Mighty Bison! I actually felt good growing up trying to beat him in SSFIIT. Seth... man... my tactics to beat him were always turtle, HK sweep, turtle, HK sweep... There's no fun in that... Bison though, he's bareable.

Seth is probably the most lackluster boss I've ever seen.

First off, he's a Gill/Urien clone.  If Capcom really wanted Urien as a boss that badly they should have just used... Urien.  Second, he's just one of many clones.  This completely strips him of any credibility as a boss for me.  Not only is he bland as a boss; he's also bland as a character.  It's strange that after Gill took such criticism for being virtually naked Capcom essentially  made the same character again and stripped him of his hair and genitals and called it a day.

I'm not keen on seeing Bison as a boss though.  It seems that when all else fails people want to return to what is all too familiar.  I would like a fresh boss; one that is somewhat inspired but also a boss that hasn't been milked for all he's worth.  The problem it seems is that Capcom can't really find a worthy successor to Bison as a final villian.  With Gill Capcom missed the mark and with Seth it seems like Capcom just phoned it in.  Still; it looks like Seth will hang around for SSFIV so I'm not holding my breath on this one.

THIS!!!!!

Its like they started to put Urien in and just changed their minds halfway.

And why didnt they name "Seth" Killian instead?

Capcom has done the alternate character specific boss fight before, although it felt like an after the boss rival match. In Darkstalkers 3 some characters would face a different end game boss than Jedah, the ones I recal are Morrigan would fight Lilith and Lilith would fight Morrigan.

Seth doesn't feel like a last boss, I agree, being a power-copy bio-android, with numerous doubles he feels like a sub-boss. Like the guy you would fight before the last boss. The Goro to Shang-tsung, the Sagat to Bison, that guy.

Because Seth isn't actually named after Seth Killian.  He's named after Abel's other brother in the bible.

They were originally going to name him Cain, but decided not to since Garou: Mark of the Wolves already had a final boss named Kain).

Personally, I still want to see them add a Kain.  If Abel is a failed Bison clone, and Seth is a Bison clone he attempted to power up with cybernetics, Kain could be a Bison clone he tried to power up with supernatural powers or something.

Man you just blew my mind here.

I thought he was named after Seth Killian.  I mean how else could you come up with Seth as a boss name.

Well, to be fair they actually said that in a couple interviews.  But Ono later said they were just joking when they said that.

He's a normal character though.  They didn't want their final boss to have the same name as a Fatal Fury final boss.
