They're SF1 and Final Fight characters technically. We already got the Alpha characters in the console release of IV (Sakura, Dan, Rose).

Why is Cody still in those stripes?! He looks even worse than he did in A3! DAMN IT!!!! Oh well. Glad to see them finally. Looks like the rumored ten won't be changing. Can't wait for the SFIII trio.
Yeah, but the SFI characters have been redesigned since then, so they're lumped in the same category as Alpha characters. Even Eagle, and he came back in CvS2 first.

Yeah I'm really buying into that old rumor now. So far they've been 6 for 6. Does this mean SSF4 will be more like 3S now with the FA system evolving into something that absorbs multiple hits? |

Of all the rumored info, only the characters appear set in stone, nothing specific about gameplay like moves or focus attacks. The post on eventhubs even suggested this. Maybe they considered tuning up focus attacks at first, but Seth said they will stay the same.

The last rumored SFIII characters are Makoto, Ibuki, and Dudley. I hope they return, Capcom can't give SFIII the shaft once again. |

I'm worried Cody still has the whole "pick up the knife from the ground" mechanic as I can see it in some pics, but not on others.
