Allright, I couldn't help but make this thread, so who will you main in sf4. Will it be one particular character or a few of them?

I'm personally having trouble deciding because I've never seen so many interesting characters packed in one street fighter game, from my point of view. I already know my top five, but there are still so many I want to try out.

Alright, so my top five are Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Gouken, and Abel. These will be my favourites and tournament characters. Five may seem a little, but I usually choose 2-3 for serious battles.

The characters I want to try out and maybe accel with would be Gen, Fei Long, Guile, Seth, Chun Li, and probably a few others. Of course I'll use everyone at least once, but there just so many to learn.

Some I know I don't perform well with, but new game, new chance. That's basically my style and preferences so what's yours?

I've decide to main Viper, but I can't really stick with one or few characters anymore. So once I get use to Viper, I will move to each character. However, Viper will be played more.

Hmm, let's see:

Godly Fall-back on mains if I get into trouble: Bison, Blanka

Hopefully new fun mains: Abel, Rose, Rufus, Gouken

I can't commit to too many more for "mains" just yet. I'd love to main a lot more though. There's so many I want to try. I am usually too impatient to test a fighter offline first, but considering so many elements are new, I may just try beating the game with a few characters before going online. That's if I can fight the urge to compete right away, becuase I really don't want to mess my record up for lack of experience.

Especially if you have ranks like in the past games that go up to A, S and SS. Hopefully you don't get locked into a rank after 1000 matches though, which was ridiculously stupid for all the past online Capcom fighters. And also, they better not count it as a match if someone quits on you right after you beat them, unless it counts it as a WIN for you. Stupid past systems. I like that they're using a variation of the chess ELO ranking.

That's something I'm very interested in, the whole online rankings, and how it all works for this game. Getting a class Grade ontop of the ELO ranking is a cool idea, but I have no idea what they have planned. I keep seeing all the stats on the system they have when some arcade matches are shown online, but it's mainly in Japanese. So, I don't know what all the score #s and stuff are exactly. It looks pretty indepth though, so hopefully it is. We need to get a good interview talking about all that stuff, and the online netcode that they're using, and why they believe it's the best they've produced to date.

I'll probably main Sakura, Ryu, and Gouken.

But I'm gonna try out Abel, and If they put any SFIII characters I'll play as them.

There are just so many characters to choose that work great. I personally don't get tired of using the same characters when I face people, and if I'm losing fights when trying others, I go back to my main and best characters, Ryu/Ken. I will try many more this time though, but before I just didn't have the patience to learn someone for a long while then play online. I like to go straight into the battle, play for a good amount and call it a day.
