i never saw any point in it. i admit ive only ever played as gen once and i couldnt do any moves because i plainly didnt know any - but i do know now theres no point in his stances. they could have just as easily cut the stance hassle out and put all the moves in the same basket, instead of making it a teensy bit more difficult and adding a stance. maybe if one sped him up but weakened his attacks, and the other one did the opposite it would be worth it but i dont see any reason for it in his alpha incarnation.

Time wounds all heals. Fact!

If you enjoy your games, my opinion really shouldn't bother you unless you have that niggling doubt in the back of your mind that is somewhat convincing you that you're not having as much fun as you should be - Toki.

Well it gives him totally different normals.

I guess it's good for f****ing with peoples heads to suddenly be different in the middle of the fight.

ah, right. i didnt know that :P

man, gen is complex... i think youd have to character specialise him in order to get the full feel, thats alot of normals you gotta realise.

Ryu.

Then I'll just play with everyone except Rufus, El Fuerte (I Don't like them) and Gen (Too lazy to learn how to use him)

Since sf4 is aiming to make a lot of things easier, I wonder if Gen will play the same complicated way he always did or if they will simplify him?

I could see them giving him just 1 gameplay style that contains both mantis and crane moves (he would visually have 2 styles but gameplaywise have 1)

I wouldn't like that at all if they dumb down Gen, his 2 style are what made him unique and switching etween is what made me really like the guy and is really the reason I learned how to play with everyone is Street Fighter except Zangief, I suck with him but Gen should keep his play style in my opinion

You damn right they don't need to dumb Gen down! What is so complicated with pressin all 3 punches or kicks to switch between styles? If I wanted to play Xism Gen I would have. But he was best in Aism.
His Xism was PURE garbage! If comcap dumbs him down and takes his 2 style fighting away from him they might as well take him out now cuz without it his inclusion is pointless! He was my fav char from his 1st game cuz of it!

NNOo Toki!NNOo! I understand why you're saying what you're saying about Gen since you didn't put much time into him,but take it from some1 who has (he was my fav and #1 char since his 2nd game Alpha2 he took Sagats spot with ease).

His 2 stances are VERY necessary for his overall strat. For instance did you know he jumps slightly higher when in crane style (3kicks)?       That was just an example. The diff between the 2 is one style allows 3 to 4 hit(2jabs for 4hit) links with his normals (timing is strict though) for a direct offensive style along with his specials (mantis)

while his 2nd style is more defensive with less links but decent priority normals(his crouching short knocks down and can link into his grab super in the corner)and his clawesque moves like his roll and jump off wall moves.

In Xism he had a mixture of both styles in 1 with his Aism qcf super and he was GARBAGE!Even with all I've mentioned he was still not the best(as far as I know) in A2 or A3 so dumbing him down will ruin him!I swear to evrything I luv if they dumb him down not only will I be pissed,I'll only pick him ONCE to beat it with him and that's it!

F**CK XISM GEN! He isn't complete without both his styles! If you combine them you're really only getting half a char cuz Gen needs all of it just to maintain wherever he is on the tier list (Cuz I know he aint top). But tiers aside,he's just plain boring without both styles. The dif stances added badass value to Gen!Without it he's just a sick ol fart in his last outing b4 hitting the checkout line!

It gets complicated if you are using a crappy keyboard.
