M, The dragon punch from WW was not good for any of these things (well, maybe going through fireballs, I can't remember if they had invincibility on start-up in that game). The reason being is that the dragon punch DID NOT KNOCK DOWN A STANDING OPPONENT!!! That is what Sabre meant by them not being safe even on hit. If you hit a standing opponent with a dragon punch they would reel back but stay on their feet and recover before you hit the ground, giving them a free hit. The dragon punch did not knockdown until champion edition.

Dont belive me then play some of the guys on my friend list, they use DP for these things very very often and is a true display of skill and I've been playing with players like this since around 92-93. Any randon poke will be dragoned for sure

I think the conclusion from WW debate is that we obviously played WW with different samples of ppl, in my sample the dominant players were always ryu/ken and never dhalsim, perhaps for you it was different. But if you think DP is just for anti air then you havnt come across truly skilled ryu/ken/akuma players, and this is what I meant when I said in an earlier thread that the skills displayed by tounements players wernt really that impressive when you've been around players who display these kinda skills. One of the reasons ryu/ken isnt my main is cos I cant utilize a DP reliably for anything but AA.

 

The flaming was cute, but now its just annoying. Would you look at the title of this thread? Why do you continue to derail everything you get your hands on? Why do you insult people then wait for a retailiation only to tell them they look 'foolish'? Noone cares about your problems with the game and that's why you're getting so much lip. Just shut up with the flaming for 5 seconds or i'll report you.

Also don't expect a response from any further derailment about 'throws' and how Guile is so bad even though you've been proved to be winning with him.

No, it's not.  If you had actually read the article, you would have realized that Honda has trouble fighting against fireball characters, so his jab headbutt was given invincibility so that Honda had a method to close the gap between himself and a fireball character without jumping.  It was also the excuse needed to keep all the nerfs proposed to Honda.

Sure, Sirlin likes to use Honda.  But if you were paying attention, you would have noticed that Sirlin weakened Honda in other areas (no more stored Ochio throw, hundred hand slaps do less damage and has less priority).  If Sirlin was really biased towards Honda, do you think he would have done that?

I get the feeling that you didn't read all the articles, because if you did, you would have realized that just about everyone (except Balrog) got some new stuff.  Guile has a roundhouse flash kick with crazy range (albeit with a price if it's blocked), an overhead kick, and his super is easier to execute.  And what the hell is Honda's charging throw?

Again, read ALL the articles, understand them, and then let me know why there are "too many things wrong with it."

I think that Honda has been over-balanced.  He's rediculously good.

Somtimes i wish i had a xbox so i could play M people keep saying hes good. but he "sounds" like such a scrub. I just wish I could play him thats all. Hey "Sounds" and being are different things no hard feelings M. I just wanna play your Guile, Boxer and anyone you say is broke and get around it.

Sounds like he just has a oppion and would have changed the game in other ways. Me I love it the way it is except one character. I don't tend to get off topic
