For people who are not familar with "Capcom vs SNK 2", there is a glitch in the game that can give your character temporary invincibility. So with a lot of practice, if you timed the glitch right, every attack your opponent throws at you will miss, no matter what range the attack is coming from.

This glitch is known as  the "Roll-cancel" glitch. People who are familiar with CvS2, already know what a huge advantage this tactic can be, but can you imagine the advantage held by the first guy to master the glitch? before the word got out what "roll-canceling" even is, someone had to discover it first.

But the guy who discovered the glitch didn't share it immediately. He had to join a tournament first, or course, and mop the floor with everyone. And yes, he got 1st place using the "roll-cancel" glitch. Can you imagine how all the other players at the tournament must have felt? "WTF?! I should have hit him! Why the heck do I keep missing?!" And from what I remember hearing, this wasn't a small local tourney either. It was a large tournament in Japan & most likely corporate sponsored too.

NO!

i'm not talking about that.

think of it as this way:

player 1 throws a fireball.
player 2 does blanka's rolling attack.
normally the fireball would stop blanka's rolling attacking, but in this case, it doesn't.
a roll-cancelled rolling attack would actually go through the fireball and hit the other player.

here's an example vid:
http://sonichurricane.com/notebook/cvs2fbcancel04.wmv
Sagat throws a fireball at Geese and than quickly does a roll-cancelled crouching fierce to avoid Sagat's projectile.

here's another vid:

watch carefully and u'll see M.Bison dodge attacks with a roll-cancelled taunt and a roll-cancelled psycho crusher.

It would've been funny to see that tournament.  I've been practicing this for a few days now and I cant tell if I'm doing it right, it's hard to confirm that you actually did it.

^Go in training mode and record Ryu shooting a jab fireball at you. Now press play and practice RCing when the fireball is about to hit you, if you did it right the fireball will go pass you if not you'll get hit.

You can also see the RC, because the roll animation does come out. If you do it with the Shoto's you can see their arm go forward before the RC, Guile will tilt forward, and etc.

You also get sound cues as well. You'll here their roll grunt before they roll completely.

But yeah, RCing is pretty easy. Arturo(top player from NYC) taught me how to RC. Good sh!t. Although, RC electricity is probably the most horrifying thing to experience in the game. Also, a lot of players win without RCing actually. It's really something you don't abuse in a match because sometimes your timing can be off by a bit and you'll eat super.

I tend to use it in counter purposes with my charge characters since their's is the easiest to throw out in a match.

It's not in the xbox or gamecube versions. Yay game altering.

plus what do you do if you encounter someone like me who can shoot a hadouken within a shinkuu-hadouken?

Surely the player can't dodge both of them...

You're execution better be Godlike because the RC will go right through all of that if timed right. And if the player doesn't see the situation going his way, he'll just block. You really don't spam RCs like that in a match, though. Especially when someone has meter.
