Cody vs Guy

This is a fight that always seems to get to me. They both were always claimed to be equal, even if their style of fighting are totally different from the other. Cody is a martial artist/street brawler, balanced in both power and speed, and fights dirty while Guy is a bushin ninja, has power too, tremendous speed, and can do some heavy combos too. Which won to you do you think will win?

Guy would own Cody now.
But back in the OLD final fight days...hmmm. I think it's a draw. No statements from CAPCOM one has out done the other in battle except Guy having more skills, speed and technique than Cody. While Cody has more power and hardcore skills. D@mned Knife....

I wonder how the effects of glo from FFSW would effect Cody's abilities now since he said that his legs feel better than ever. Do you think Cody and Guy were still equal to each other in the Alpha series? They both were getting better and better in alpha with Cody gaining new moves and letting his addiction to fighting take over him fully while Guy defeated his master to become the next bushin master and he gained alot of new moves too.

if Guy has the "Shadow of the Bushin" ala Shun Go Satsu he uses. He is better than Cody. Terms of strength Cody can pumple Guy,if he can catch him.
Even Kyle was surprised at Guy's hand speed. Guy taught him a few moves the rapid punches and the palm trust. Similar to Guy's Super in FFSW. but imho Kyle might be stronger than Cody. Since he beat ALL four horsemen of Father Belgar including "Cody Death". But Guy has the edge of that SGS move he has over the other FF characters even Cody. They need to make another FFSW or another FF game. Bring back Lucia! Add Maki and Carlos.

Yeah man, they really need to bring the other Final Fight heroes back as well which are like you said Maki, Lucia, Carlos, and even Dean too. Sodom and Poison were suppose to make it in FFSW, but didn't though and it was really cool to see Cammy in it though. I agree with you, Guy actually convinced Kyle not to fight him and showed off his speed to Kyle, shocking the crap out of him. With the glo effects taking over Cody, Guy held him captive for Kyle, but Cody's glo effect was too strong for Guy to hold on too at the time, but I'm not sure how much effect will that have still between the two though. Kyle does have the ability to be just as good as Cody and other and proved that by learning their moves and beating the four horsemen with Cody himself being the best one out of the four.

Yeah man, and Cody did actually added something new to SFA3 as well. I mean, what other Street Fighter do you know enjoys fighting in handcuffs and fights in a jailsuit, no one other than Cody. Guy added something new to SFA as well, a street ninja that doesn't wear a mask and sports some really cool tennis shoes, now that's awesome. Anyway, I remember in SFA3 that Guy tried to reform Cody for what he had become, but accepted who he is and after their fight, Cody mentioned that the results between them still didn't meaning that they probably still remain equal to each other.

Eh, I found Cody's style in SFA3 to be really awkward, and there's no arguing the fact that he's a bottom-tier character. I also wasn't a big fan of his representation, being drawn as a common street thug jailbird. I liked him as more of a hero back in the FF days, and not some washed-out drug-abusing loser with semi-useless moves as he's been portrayed in recent games.
So, maybe Guy and Cody were an even match back in the day, but today my money's on Guy. And yes, Capcom needs to makes another Final Fight game. |
