I went to my local Nickel Nickel today, with all the talk of SFIV, and just SF in general, I was in a really good mood for going back to the arcade, I beat my previous record on SFII Champion Edition (Look for CAM and CWH [CWH = Cammy was here or Cammy Will H*******n *=My last name] Oh, and Cammy wasn't in there, it was all Ryu...) I grew up with Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 on the Dreamcast, and loved the heck out of that game, and I haven't played it in years...but I realized, when I memorized Cammy's, Guile's, and Ryu's combos... does it REALLY matter? I played my little brothers friend, and he PWNED ME! I was enraged! I sat there, got to stage to, he wanted to play it with me, and he just came in and dominated, and he's not even a fighting game fan! He just button mashed, and I was sitting there in amazment as the screen flashed random things all over the place. I suppose the game was to fast for me, but I was practically feeling like I was watching a firework show, just seeing how fast it was, I don't remember MvC2 on the DC, because most the time when I played it, I was button mashing myself... I sat there, did my best with Cammy, and still, had no hopes in winning. Eventually we took a walk to the SFII:CE machine and I set him straight, but still... Do you stand a better chance button mashing with the big characters, versus being a average/small sized characters and laying down the heat? I need a veterans help here... |

MVC2 is too user friendly. Meh I wish MVC2 was in the same format as Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter with all the characters of MVC2.

Yeah honestly, I think it's all about the button mashing, I saw little talent in the game. |

Wow. Have you... not been paying attention to the internet for the past 8 years?
MvC2 is many things, but a button masher is not one of them. In fact, the skill level in this game is so high, that there are levels of expertise that separate the really good from the exceptionally good. |

Relax Ultima, don't get all sore.. Jeez... I'm just saying, me being 1 of the best (if not the BEST) at my local arcade at SFII, the fact that I hopped on MvC2 and got may arse handed to me by a 12 year old made me wonder... And yeah, I have been paying attention to the internet for the past 9 years actually. Just because I haven't payed attention to what you paid attention to, doesn't mean I've been living in a whole. |

Cammy:
If you were beaten by a 12 year old, you're simply nowhere near as good (or at the very least, good at the game in question - SF2 skills don't translate well to MvC2, and vice-versa) as you thought you were. It's that simple. And your statement (re: MvC2 is all about button mashing) shows you haven't been paying to that game's development attention at all. |

I remember the very first time I jumped on an arcade MvC I got wasted by a very young kid. His father was pretty proud. However.. a) I wasn't aware of the 4 attack button setup (my bad) b) I let him hit me once b/c his dad asked me to 'go easy on him' while he had a combo that took 80% plus off my Juggernaut (my bad for thinking the kid was bad) c) My Magneto skills weren't that phenominal (and just realised the 4 button set up w/ ~40% health left).. d) the kid kinda knew his way around both Wolverine's and Gambit's infinite. (he droped me twice, once on purpose) e) I almost thought the kids dad was a tourni guy. f) My Juggy skills atleast dropped his Wolverine... g) His Gambit literally chipped the last 5% off Juggy w/ royal flushed combos. h) I first got on the game to find out how the button set up worked... alone. (my bad) i) if mashing did work I could have actually won... it doesn't. |

Cammy:
> OK, so button mashing doesn't work, then would the fact that he was using Venom, Blackheart, and Cable make a difference? :3 Nope. That's a terrible team, actually. Though I suppose if neither party knows what they're doing, I suppose it doesn't matter much. I can see a team of Iceman, Cable, and Ironman being annoying if you don't know what you're doing. > Seriously, I don't think he would stand a chance in reality, then again, when I play that game so close to the screen I can't tell exactly what's going on... It looks like a bunch of flashing lights to me which killed it for me, and SFII lasted longer for me than this game. That... sounds like a personal problem. Why do you play the game so close to the screen? :| Mind you, the game can be difficult to follow even under the best of circumstances and by the best of players (LOL Magneto randomly unblockable), so I won't hold that against you. Still, it sounds like you're making it worse. :p |

Um, IDK, for some reason, the Keypad/Analog and buttons were practically behind the screen they were so close... LOL Well I had... |
