We love offering choice to people and we know everyone has their favorite ways to buy. We’ve listened to feedback on our prior releases and have tried to provide as many options on outlets and DRM as possible.
Here are your currently available digital pre-order options:
Buy digitally and pre-load from Steam – We’re #4 on their current best sellers… why not see if you can help us get to #1 in the days leading up to launch?
If there's something you can count on from the PC community, it's the need to tweak, test and configure stuff to see what's the best "thing" there is. That's part of the reason we released the Street Fighter IV benchmark some weeks ago (click the link to download and try it yourself if you haven't already).
The folks at PC Games Hardware (a German publication that thankfully, also has their editorial in English) have already put the benchmark through its paces in their test lab at various resolutions (100+ fps at greater than 1080p resolutions? check!) and various MSAA and AF settings across a suite of GPUs.
Have a look at PC Games Hardware results and see if your GPU is in the list of tested versions and remember, as much as we love our 360s and PS3s, consoles can't run at these resolutions with these levels of MSAA and AF.
As a closing shot, we still have some of our popular Street Fighter IV PC/Mad Catz pad bundles unspoken for in the Capcom store, but they won't last long, so I'd recommend ordering ASAP. It's a great deal with game and pad for $59.99.
Lastly, stay tuned to your favorite download services in the coming days to see what benefits there are to pre-ordering on those services.
The future of PC gaming is bright... how bright? Have a look at this puppy:
What is that you ask? That is the future of high speed storage - the IO-Drive. They're already more than double the read and write time of the fastest SSD drives on the market. Now all we need is for it to be 2 Terrabytes for under $100 (at the moment 80GB is $3,000).
As we've greatly expanded our PC offerings, Alienware has been a great partner for Capcom over the past year. We use their machines for development and testing. In some cases at some of our dev partners, they’re even powering our render farms.
If you ever swing past their site, you may notice that a lot of the imagery surrounding their beautiful rigs is from Capcom. You may have seen Nathan Spencer from Bionic Commando in their print ads. You’ll see Will from Dark Void and Street Fighter IV characters in upcoming promotions as well.
Almost half of the games in Alienware’s booth at E3 were Capcom PC titles where they were showing off their newest baby, announced on Tuesday, the M17x gaming laptop. While I personally run on an Alienware M17, this thing makes my beefy laptop look anemic. I was smitten by the new angular design and what a beast it is on the inside.
Here’s what it’s packin’:
Powered at the high end with a Core 2 Extreme quad-core processor, a pair of 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M GPUs and up to 8GB of 1333MHz DDR3 memory, speed and strength work in perfect harmony to bring you the pinnacle in mobile dominance.
From games to media to your business presentations, the M17x provides you with the storage capacity you need and the lighting-fast access speeds you want. The choice is yours, be it 1TB Hard Drive at 7200-rpms or a 512GB SSD in either RAID 1 or RAID 0.
With all the latest tech in your hands including, FireWire, 4x USB, eSATA, ExpressCard, 802.11n WiFi, 8-in-1 media card reader, dual-layer Blu-ray, a 1920 x 1200 pixel edge-to-edge LCD, DisplayPort and HDMI-outs, you will be ready, out of the box, for the experience of a lifetime.
These puppies start at $1,799. Perfect for running Excel or Outlook at incredibly high speeds (tell the boss you need one to maximize productivity). Then go run the DMC4 benchmark from the demo (or buy it)and make your friends cry. It also runs Street Fighter IV PC flawlessly on max settings (a fact we learned by having the only M17x at E3 that wasn’t in Alienware’s booth in ours).
Ok, now that Bionic Commando is shipping out around the world, teaching everyone how cool it is to swing, I thought it would be a good time to call out a few special things for the fans.
First up, the Bionic Commando Capcom-Unity Pre-paid Visa Card. Say that five times fast, I dare you. Our bank card has a number of different designs but we have two made just for Bionic Commando fans. So when someone asks you sarcastically “What’s in your wallet?” You can respond: “Nathan Spencer, #$!!%&*!”. Or “Your mom”. That never gets old.
Also, as with all Capcom-Unity Cards, you earn 5,000 Capcom-Unity points for activating the card and 5 Unity points for every dollar you spend, 0.5% cash back on all signature purchases, big discounts/rewards at our Capcom Rewards Mall, 15% off all purchases in the Capcom E-Store, access to future Capcom open beta programs and special treatment and perks at events like E3 and Comic-Con (details to be shared soon).
The other shout-out is for the critically acclaimed and best selling Bionic Commando Rearmed which we launched last year.
It’s available at the Capcom store and a host of other PC e-distribution partners if you want it on PC. For our console fans, it’s available on PlayStation Network and Xbox 360 as well. There’s no better time to reacquaint yourself with the franchise than now.
