    Photoshop Class Project

    Sunday, November 15, 2009, 09:26 PM [General]

This week's project in my Photoshop class was to create something like an ad or a poster. I decided I'd really like to do one for Marvel Vs. Capcom 2's re-release.

This is the poster I did. I was greatly inspired by some poster designs by Hatch Show Print as well as this awesome shirt in the store.

Capcom Halloween Contest: My Costume, D. Gumshoe.

    Friday, October 30, 2009, 10:12 PM [General]

I'm a huge fan of Ace Attorney, and when I saw the Capcom Halloween Contest announcement, I knew I had to come up with a costume from the game.

Low on time and money, I had to mostly make my costume work from things I already had in my own closet. (I don't own a cravat, vest, or a maroon suit, so Edgeworth was basically out of the question.)

Why did I pick Gumshoe? Well, I thought he was a great character who gets overlooked from time to time. Plus, I thought it looked like he's featured rather prominently in Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth.

Without further ado, here are some of the photos I took today:

This is the one I entered. I like the pose. Looks sort of detective-y.

Here's a head-on shot. My blazer kept going on past the arms of my trenchcoat.

OBJECTION! I really couldn't help from doing this at least once. I actually hate having my picture taken so it was a good way to sort of goof off.

That's it as far as my photos go. I wish good luck to every one who has entered or will be entering the costume contest. Thanks to everybody at Capcom-Unity for giving us this chance. It really was pretty fun.

    Next year: Miles Edgeworth!

LOL. When I asked that question, I had no idea that when I would post my comment, it would redirect me to your blog.

So, when I did, I saw your blog post and was like, "Oh... I guess that answers my question..."

    LOL.

But yeah, one of my ex-friends was incredibly competitive, dangerously even. Getting angry and enraged when he didn't win in a fighting game and refusing to let me stop playing until he won. And when I would just get up and walk away...

    He would go bananas.

Thanks man. There have been a lot of people that have been helping me deal with this, but at the same time, there are a lot who are very angry. But your right, whether or not anyone lies an outcome, no one should act out and bring another down because of it.

Yeah, all I had to go on was the rules, and in all seriousness, there wasn't much I could have done in that regard. But me forfeiting seems to be the best way to make sure the community doesn't have this anger towards the mods. And that's the last thing I want. I respect the mods decisions completely, what they say is very important to me and should be to the rest of the community, but if me winning takes away that respect for the mods, then I can't let that happen. My girlfriend said she would be pissed if I forfeited, saying I'm letting the angry mob win, so, I'm at a loss as to what to do. I don't want her to be upset with me, and I don't want the community to be upset with the mods.

There will always be sore losers, however, the amount of people that there were in this instance was staggering. Then again, I don't know is this is really normal or not, considering I've never won anything before, which is also why I am a bit intimidated by everyone else on the site right now. But thank you, I've never had anyone relate me to a role model before, it renews a sense of confidence.

    Thank you. :]
