It makes no sense to limit this game's appeal by releasing it only on the Wii.

Capcom is neglecting its main demographic by putting this game out only on the Wii. While Nintendo fanboys will argue this point with me, the Wii just does not have the core audience for this kind of game in America. It is a 2D style fighting game and the Wii just doesn't have the hardcore crowd covered. It doesn't support online gameplay, it doesn't have have a good control scheme (the Hori stick isn't being made anymore), and the system is geared toward kids and parents. If only Capcom would put the game on the other systems too at least the game would reach the hardcore fighting crowd. This move just doens't make much sense. It seems like a great game but I don't see it reaching its potential success by being an exclusive on the Wii.

rubbish! lots of people owns a wii even the core audience. oh and capcom are trying to put the game online

To paraphrase something that was posted on the SRK boards. Releasing the game stateside is already a big risk since the Tatsunoko characters are an unproven property. Porting the game would pose an even bigger risk financially since they would have to finance the port instead of just having to retool the GUI and translate some text.

I support a new (or remixed) Darkstalkers game!

When I first posted another thread about wanting this game on the 360, I thought it was originally an arcade-game. If the game is built ground-up for the Wii, it might be a bit risky to port it to the other systems.

And to the staff at Capcom, great work bringing this one over!

I wonder if I`ll go back to pulling off dragon-punches with my thumb again though.

I need a magical converter that lets my 360 TE-Fightstick make love to my Wii`s USB slots.

Actually I need one, universal console, right now!

And no, it`s not the PC. I like to play my games, not search for their drivers...

What so many people don't understand about what I have said is that I have no problem with this game coming for the Wii. I just think it would be more economically sound for Capcom to make the game for the other systems too. If this game features some kind of motion control scheme, then when the other consoles get their motion controllers, this game might be able to be ported. I think it's great that the Wii is getting some hardcore gaming fun finally instead of the shovelware that it usually gets. I have thought about getting a Wii just because it is getting some excluxives like this. But I still think it would make more sense for Capcom to release this title for the other systems as well so they can turn a larger profit.

You forget to factor in the development cost of having to port it over to the other systems. Especially considering that the arcade game is on a Wii based arcade board and all that Capcom has to do now is to translate dialogue and do some UI changes. That, plus the obscurity of the Tatsunoko characters makes spending for ports a risky proposition since their not sure that they'll get a return on their investment (again, US port of JP Wii/arcade game is pretty cheap).

Aren't you people satisfied enough as it is? You get SF4, MVC2, Bionic Commando etc and as soon as the Wii gets something, you cry like babies and say I want that too. You guys are not getting it because its built on Wii hardware and to porting it to new systems would cost Capcom a bundle.

Not all but some PS3 and 360 owners are spolied brats geez. Let the Wii have this one for once.

I know something you can have. You guys get...

Uh-oh... sounds like somebody's butt-hurt they only own one console! Wink

Personally, I can (and will) get it no matter what platform it's released on- I've invested quite a bit in my primary hobby of choice and have always been a multi-console gamer-  but I certainly have a system preference and the Wii is definitely not it...
