It makes no sense to limit this game's appeal by releasing it only on the Wii.

Just goes to show you people can never be satisfied =/ Capcom went out of its way, apparently, to bring this game out over in the US. Most other companies wouldn't have bothered, but Capcom cares about its fans. Now that they actually pull it off, people feel the need to whine so they'll port it.

Arcade Version = Based on Wii software, therefore,

TvC = Wii Game.

The Wii needs something awesome that's exclusive and NOT First party. TvC fits the bill. It's not Capcom's fault you don't have a Wii to play it on.

I'll buy this.  I'll have Brawl and TvC (the US version now) for my Wii and be content.

It's a very fun game.  Online play will be icing on the cake.

"Man, I wish I could play something on my Wii. Its been collecting dust eversince I bought Smash Bros. The Wii needs more games, its a cool console but the 360/PS3 has more"

*Enter cool new game, apparently Wii-only*

"Man, why only Wii? It makes more sense on 360/PS3"

To paraphrase something that was posted on the SRK boards. Releasing the game stateside is already a big risk since the Tatsunoko characters are an unproven property. Porting the game would pose an even bigger risk financially since they would have to finance the port instead of just having to retool the GUI and translate some text.

This.

Also, like other user said: Wii based Arcade Card -> Easy Wii Port. That, plus only translate the game is much cheaper than coding the same game in the 360/PS3.

If Capcom later choose to port the game, fine by me. If they don't want to, also fine. All that matters is that we'll have this game in America in English. I'll support Capcom by buying this game on day 1.

Thanks Capcom for all your effort!!!

Exactly! They want the game to come here but when it does come, people find something else to complain about. They should be glad the game even made it here. That was the biggest issue anyway.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I'M BACK!!!

All right! 1st off, I'm glad that the games coming here so i can buy it again, unlike all of you i want the buy the game for the sake of playing the game.....EVER AGAIN because my Wii firmware is now 3.4 ever since i played Punch-Out! for the Wii and i'm not in the mood to hack my Wii.

2nd. By definition, the game WILL be released in Winter of 2009 possibly around the same date the Japanese version came out.

3rd. i though we already stated the TvC perdiciment that the game runs on a arcade board that ONLY, ONLY, ONLY Nintendo-based hardware can runs, you know, NINTENDO a gaming franshise, not a gaming development company like Next Level games. and it's a consolation prize for Wii owners not ever getting Street Fighter IV. geez.. glad to be back!

Capcom is neglecting its main demographic by putting this game out only on the Wii. While Nintendo fanboys will argue this point with me, the Wii just does not have the core audience for this kind of game in America. It is a 2D style fighting game and the Wii just doesn't have the hardcore crowd covered. It doesn't support online gameplay, it doesn't have have a good control scheme (the Hori stick isn't being made anymore), and the system is geared toward kids and parents. If only Capcom would put the game on the other systems too at least the game would reach the hardcore fighting crowd. This move just doens't make much sense. It seems like a great game but I don't see it reaching its potential success by being an exclusive on the Wii.

demographic...you really need a lesson.

IMo, this game isn't popular enough for the PS3 or 360. It failed hard in japan for a reason.

I wonder about Evo too.  the guy running Evo (the world fighting championships) can't find enough people willing to partake in a TvC tournament? The games just too stiff and not as fluid as MvC2 IMO.

Here's a lesson in economics. This game has limited appeal so its sales are also limited. The game was designed for an arcade board that is a modified Wii thus the port to Wii was cheap and easy. Porting to another system would take a lot of effort as the art assets would need to be recreated for 720p at minimum. Would the game sell more on PS3 and/or 360? It might but the amount of time and effort to do that would most likely outweigh the financial increase. The fact that Capcom is releasing such a niche title in the U.S. despite the legal troubles of negotiating with multiple license holders over a minimal profit should be respected by fans. I'm not a Nintendo fanboy. I prefer to play fighters on my PS3 but the Wii does have a decent library of fighters and TvC will be at home among the KoF, Samurai Shodown and Neo Geo Arcade Anthologies.

I makes me when people complain there is nothing on the "casual" system called Wii, then complain about this, Brawl, etc. Seriously, 360/PS3 owners already have SF4, MvsC2, SF2HD, plus some other fighting games. If you want the games so bad, than buy a Wii.

Have you guys seen the people on the Shoryuken Forums? They are all saying how this game isn't fair technically. Seriously, can anyone be happy? Capcom pulled off the impossible by even getting this game in the US. >_>

What so many people don't understand about what I have said is that I have no problem with this game coming for the Wii. I just think it would be more economically sound for Capcom to make the game for the other systems too. If this game features some kind of motion control scheme, then when the other consoles get their motion controllers, this game might be able to be ported. I think it's great that the Wii is getting some hardcore gaming fun finally instead of the shovelware that it usually gets. I have thought about getting a Wii just because it is getting some excluxives like this. But I still think it would make more sense for Capcom to release this title for the other systems as well so they can turn a larger profit.

You forget to factor in the development cost of having to port it over to the other systems. Especially considering that the arcade game is on a Wii based arcade board and all that Capcom has to do now is to translate dialogue and do some UI changes. That, plus the obscurity of the Tatsunoko characters makes spending for ports a risky proposition since their not sure that they'll get a return on their investment (again, US port of JP Wii/arcade game is pretty cheap).

I agree with you on the development costs. Just look at Monster Hunter 3. It was originally made for PS3, then they switched it to Wii due to high development costs.
