What do you think of the Capcom vs. Anime concept?

Just prior to this game being announced, I was actually wondering what it would be like if Capcom crossed over with anime but I was thinking more on lines of Shonen-based animes (in terms of designs, that is). Sure I always wanted to see DBZ against Capcom but as I grew older and watched more animes, I began to think about other possibilities too after I saw how different it was. Another thing is I was looking on some mugen videos and I saw Melty Blood characters against Street Fighter characters. The MB characters look so anime-ish compared to the SF characters that it doesn't take a genius know that they're from different series so I was thinking more on the lines that too. It looks pretty shonen-based itself (along with Fate/Unimlited Codes). Anime companies like Toei, Sunrise, and Gainax have also provided the type of animes I'm familiar with. Not just the shonen based animes but just animes you see on a daily basis (shonen, seinen, mecha, comedy, etc.).

Then out of nowhere, there was the announcement of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. I barely knew about Tatsunoko so when I read that it was an anime company, I was expecting Shonen-based anime characters and not tokusatsu characters from 70s. Sure they look cool but it's just that they're part of genre that I'm use to seeing as a live action show. Believe it or not, even to this day, I'm still trying to get use to the characters. Even after looking at their openings a dozen times already, I'm still trying to get use to them. Animes prior to the 80s just looked so different. Not just because of the animations but in everything; the designs, the storylines, the personaities, the features, the theme songs (even though I like them), alot of things. I'm use to animes from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, but the 70s and before that is just too different in my eyes.

So while I do like the concept of Capcom vs. Anime, it takes a while for me to get use to this kind of concept. So what you all think of the concept?

Honestly...it pretty cool

I always have been a marvel hardcore fans and even if it not marvel,i enjoy a lot the new direction in term of crossover and gameplay. So i like it and i hope these kinds of surprise will continue from capcom.

I will be honest;im not a fan of anime and i rarely watched some as well. The best i could watch is an entire ova and the worst would be 2-3 minutes of the first episode before i ditch it away.

Overall, the crossover with tatsunoko is quite cool and if the game do well,i hope they will do a sequel.

I can't help to think of it like the times Capcom announced crossovers to Marvel & SNK. It was shocking at 1st, but then we got used to it & found the games really fun.

It's a surprise but the idea is fresh and exhilarating. The first shout of this game delivered a promising and special feel because unlike most fighters we see today, Capcom brings out a unique combination of movesets and characters into the roster. So with having to say that, Tatsunoko vs Capcom = Good! Awesome!

Heck, I want Capcom to expand the crossover and go get live-action ones (like the Henshin series of Toei). For instance Toei Heroes (Kamen Rider/Super Sentai/Metal heroes) vs. Capcom would work out quite well as a crossover since it's fresh and different.

Well an anime could be good, but just not DBZ, you look at SF and think God damn I wish I could do that, and then you look at DBZ and think Holy ****, I could rule the world.

The only logical choice is Capcom vs. JoJo.

Capcom had in part creating a Jojo Adventures game. Having that as a cross wouldn't really work but I'm sure the characters can still be included as long as Capcom persist to have a licence(Which I doubt).
