If it's like the Hori and Exar sticks, then I believe it'l connect to the WiiMote, although it's likely that it'll connect to the Gamecube controller port.

I support a new (or remixed) Darkstalkers game!

I have never liked either of them. I was going to buy the Evar when it launched in Japan, but thankfully backed out of it when I saw one up close...Don't get me started on the Madcatz SE's.

I will stick with my quality driven Hori's, unless a TE is offerered which houses the Wii Remote's internally.

Ready for round two...

Does anybody know if it can be pre-ordered and how much it will cost.

Just mod the SE with Sanwa parts then. That's actually one thing the SE has in it's favor, outside of a Mayflash stick (which doesn't work on the Wii btw) it's the easiest stick to mod in the market - unlike the Hori which requires that you desolder the buttons, file down the button holes, drill a hole in the bottom and  physically modify the Sanwa JLF.

I may mod my Hori's once they are knackered, but the fact is they're still going strong due to the build quality being so good. Those are licensed Wii products and are practically Nintendo's own, Hori make everything for Nintendo in Japan. Anyway, I found two Neo Geo Stick Wii's yesterday, and they're a great fit for this game.

Wii Fighting sticks are not compatible with Brawl, you will be disappointed with taunts..think about it.

Another option to certainly consider...

If you're really serious about playing the game competitively, then not even Hori parts will do as anyone familiar with Sanwa's cantell the difference in feel immediately. And if you're looking for TE/HRAP SA quality, you're definitely going to mod out of the box, the better choice for which is the SE since you won't have to do any of the soldering/drilling/cutting that the FS Wii requires. Bottom line is, the SE was purposely designed to be modded (which makes sense since it was designed by a modder).

To illustrate, compare the instructions you posted, with these for modding an SE.

As for Smash, it's not an arcade fighting game that's meant to be played with a joystick.

I'm fully aware of the difference owning both Sanwa and Seimitsu fitted joysticks. I would rather make do though, the Hori is surprisingly good, it feels very robust and smooth.

I wont mind putting the work in if I have to.

I don't really like the casing at all to be honest.. I'm hoping the game will gain in popularity and a TE will be announced. If that happens it will be good for the long term future of fighting games on Wii, more so than this will. The problem is any TE would have to house the Wii Remote, diverting from the current case design.

I thought some guy earlier in this thread said he would use one for Smash..

I know a hori wont work for smash, but a SE will. It has a slider that toggles between digital and analog output
