I'm not sure if this belongs in the character thread or not, so forgive me.
Capcom has made several announcements stating that Joe the Condor and Zero were the final characters for the US version of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom. While this is excellent and wonderful news that we're even getting this game at all, something bothers me. I do not believe the code specifying "yatter02" in the Japanese site was a fluke. In fact, if I had to guess, I would bet good money that Yatterman-2, Ai-chan, is going to be a Japanese exclusive character for the game. I own both a US and Japanese Wii, so if this does intend to be the case I will import the game to have the most complete version. As a reader of Japanese I do not need the English version.
This is all theory, mind you, but it makes a lot of sense... |

This can't be possible bescause this is "Our" version not Japan's. There getting what we put in the game. There even lucky there getting our version updates |

It would be interesting if they say that Zero and Condor Joe are the final two but have one more character in the roster that would be a surprise when the game gets closer to it's release date.

@Bozeefus: This isn't exactly "our" version. This version was still developed in Japan & the characters in this version were chosen by the Japanese developers just like all the other characters were. The only say we had was to bring the game here.
@Akakaze: My Yatter2 theory is that she was scrapped entirely. I think this because Japan hasn't gotten a yatter2 announcement yet. You speak Japanese, right? Have you tried reading any Japanese articles to see if they mention Zero & Joe being the final two?

My guess is that they scrapped Yatterman-2 due to the fact that Hakushon MAY be returning. This is only a guess, and I'm sure someone will say "The developers said he wouldn't be in.", and I know that. I can dream it's possible after all. |

dosent capcom now have the rights of all the individual tatsunoko characters like gatchaman, which is why we have 3 characters from it,tekkaman has 2 and yatterman already has 2 so isnt yatterman 2 likely? |

Your theory has a failing point: If Yatterman-2 is going to be a exclusive Japanese character, them why would they add her instead of Hakushon??? Hakushon was already programmed, so why to bother replacing him for her? It's because they are getting the same game that America and Europe will get. So, if Hakushon is not in America and Europe, is safe to think that he won't be in Japan either. The same thing goes around: If Yatterman-2 is on Japan version, is safe to think America and Europe will get her as well. Why this? Simply because developers want balance in all territory, especially when they are working on the Online Mode (so all of us can play the same game and get our worldwide matches). As simple as that. |

I agree with Hayabusa. Having an exclusive character in one region would divide the community & unless she's hidden in the US & Euro disks, we wouldn't be able to play online with Japanese players.
