Resident Evil Collectors Disc broke.

Hey there Over the weekend I was playing RE5 and at 4 am i decided to put it away and sleep.

When I put it in the cover I noticed 4 cracks in the center.. Now I believe it was that Tin case since I struggle putting the disc in and out its so tight and hard ...

Is there a disc replacment programe for this via Capcom(with a fee i take it) for the disc or must I go the MS route (im looking into now)..

I also hope this gets around that those tin cases are Hard those clips are no suprise if they make someone force the disc out and damage it.. which is my case (accidently)..

I dont blame Capcom or MS it was my action..

I sort of dont trust the MS route since it involves sending the disc away and Credit Card Details via mail... and that....might not be cool if it gets handed in the wrong hands.

PS the Games disc broke not the DVD Video

Edit

it turns out MS only does MS Games....published..

So do you guys have a disc replacment programe?

I had Problem with Lost Planet and As far as i know MS wont take Any action, But By all means it Is MS Fault since with all metal Tins they are Poorly Designed I have had to Buy 4 Collectors Editions Of Lost Planet, 2 Dead Risings and another Perfect Dark Zero. Because the Disc Holder part is too solid it wont budge with ease so you kinda have to fight it at times it sucks :(

AND NOOO!!!!! my name has nothing to do with Mega Man X or Maverick Hunter Zero -_-

I have the same problem with my disc, except that it is the regular addition in the plastic case.  I'm not sure how mine got damaged, but I was told by the rep I spoke with it was my Xbox.

In your case, you should call 650-350-6700, if you are in the US.  If not, check the back of your instruction manual, it should have something listed under the warranty page.  Another option is to go to the capcom store and go through support on the site.  They should be able to answer your question in a business day or so.  You may be able to get a disc replacement for $20.

I have the metal case for Gears 2, Pefect Dark Zero, and Halo Wars, but I have no problems with any of the discs.

Yes. This is a known issue with all 360 discs. They were manufactured poorly and all of them have a chance of cracking in the middle very easily with normal handling.

I did make a blanket statement, but looking through all of my 360 games, at least 1/2 of them all have pieces of plastic breaking off the center. :/

Maybe I'm just that unlucky.

Are you talking about the collector's edition version of MGS4? Coz my standard edition is not 'see-through'able...

Ah If I had the same as you I would make that asumption aswell No worries I know the feeling.

I just got a phone call from Nu Metro the Distributor for South Africa.. He made a valid point though.

He said it might be a problem as they get a Certain amount of Shipment from Capcom and No Extra disc's or covers (unless the opisite )..

He is going to call me back though I did offere to Pay for the disc or the game with cover and all hopefully cheaper than the Retailers..

Doesnt matter if it aint the Collectors cause teh Collectors reallyjust a cover with Bonus DVD which in fact issnt so great in the first place (Capcom You can do better)

Either you got a defective disc or maybe just MGS4 PAL is the only one that is 'inferior'... But yea, mine is standard too, but asian version. No see-through. But I've checked my other PAL ps3 games (re5, Star wars, uncharted, bourne) none of them are see-through...

Off-topic aside, based on ur exp (and others too), does that mean those tin covers are no good? Coz I was thinkin of buyin some games/blu-ray in those tin covers...

Ouji-san - I wish there was something I can do to help you. Capcom North America has a damaged disc program but it only applies to North American released games. Let me see if I can contact my Capcom Europe conterpart. Now understand that I can not guarantee they can do something for you but it doesn't hurt to ask.
