Resident Evil 5 PC problem

Hey everyone, just got back from gamestop and picked up my copy of RE5 PC. Only one problem so far. The ingame cutscenes dont' show... It just goes to a black screen. If there is talking in the scene, it still shows the captions, but there is no video. The opening pre rendered cutscenes show just fine, but the ingame ones do not work.

My system:

Q6600 @4Ghz

Asus P5Q-E

6Gb DDR2

4870 512Mb x2 Crossfire.

Windows 7 RC x64

Nevermind, reinstalling fixed it.

Not sure if it has to do with the problem, but when I uninstalled the full game, I also uninstalled the benchmark. Then reinstalled the game and everything is working.

Spoke too soon, it's doing it again. I'd rather not have to reinstall every time a new in-game cutscene plays. :/

Your not the only one with this problem. I was playing with someone who was on a GTX 260 and he had no problem what so ever with the cutscenes.

I'm on an I7 4890's in crossfire and windows 7 RC 7100. My hunch is it is either a driver issue or something to do with Windows 7. Blasted Nvidia....

Yeah, everyone I've talked to that had the problem has an AMD card.

Yeah, I have the same issue.  In a way, I'm glad to see others are having this problem, because I was afraid it might be some issue difficult for me to fix since I an running Windows XP on a Mac Pro using Boot Camp, and can not use the standard driver updates that are available for PC cards.

I am running on an Intel Mac with 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Xeon processors, an ATI Radeon X1900 XT and 10 GB Ram.  Windows XP installed @ service pack to and with all updates applied since.

I also updated DirectX 9c just to be sure that wasn't the problem.

When the game begins the screen is black during the video, except for the credits and subtitles.  Then, once the game starts to load, I see the first screen with some story related text, then the application has an error and has to the quit.  The message I get is:

D3DERR_DRIVERINTERNALERROR: present_result

Oddly, when I run the default benchmark test, I can actually see the test scene normally for about 15-20 seconds, then I experience the same error.  When I run the fixed benchmark, I get the error immediately.

I have a number of fairly recent PC game releases and have played them with no problem on this system, including:  Dead Space, Crysis, Left 4 Dead, Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Gears of War, etc.

I hope this problem is resolved soon in some way.  This is the first time I have ever bought a game on the day of its release, and this experience is not exactly making me want to do that again in the future.

As i said in another topic i also got the driverinternalerror with my x1950 so do many other people with the x1--- Radeon cards. Well i hope capcom will look into it. i know the card is old but it still gives good performance at almost all games. So our hopes rest on capcoms care.

Ati's statement in this matter:

"

If its a game issue they may patch it, however if its a driver issue you would be out of luck since those cards are legacy now.
