    Monster Hunting

    Tuesday, July 14, 2009, 11:10 PM [General]

So currently, I am utterly addicted to Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.  This game is great, if you own a PSP, but don't have Monster Hunter Freedom 2 or Unite, then mail your PSP back to Sony.  This is the killer app for the PSP.

It's the Pokemon for the Sony handheld gamers who ten years ago were playing Pokemon Blue or Red on their Gameboys.  Granted, I still play Pokemon to this day, but now I focus my free time on the go for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.

Currently, here are some screen caps from my PSP-2000 video output capture.  I still feel like I'm getting my ass handed to me, and my equipment is nowhere as awesome as the stuff in the Demo version of Freedom Unite.

And as for weapons in the game.  I love the Dual Swords and Heavy Bowguns.  Recently I tried out the Hunting Horn, which I have to admit, I bet in hunting parties has to be one fun weapon.  I'm yet to play with more than one person though.  Next weapon I want to focus some love on will be the Lance and Hunting Horn.

    Hunting of the Monsters!

    Friday, June 26, 2009, 04:56 PM [General]

Well, I've finally been showing my PSP lots of love courtesy of Capcom.  A while back a Monster Hunter Freedom Unite demo hit the PSN store.  I downloaded it.  Gave it a couple shots, got killed by some dinosaur thing.  Not very fun.  But the game seems like a game I would love, I just couldn't get a grasp for it.  So I had a copy of Monster Hunter Freedom 2 laying around.

Note, I just recently got a PSP-2000 for 15 dollars broken.  Seventy to replace the screen.  So with my newly acquired PSP I started a new game of Monster Hunter.  After about 30 minutes of going through the trainers school, I realized I am hooked!  This game is like Pokemon crossed with Animal Crossing.  But instead of training and capturing monsters, your killing and carving their carcasses for materials to create armor and weapons.  This game is single handiley saving the PSP in Japan.  And I know once the Wii version comes out it's going to be on like Donkey Kong.

I wouldn't recommend Monster Hunter for everyone, it takes some patient.  Once you do get past all that, you too will become a Hunter.  Now, does anyone want to get their PS3 Ad-hoc party on with me!
