So we've heard the rumors that Super SFIV might have two Ultras. Like everyone, else, my mind's been thinking and dreaming of new Ultras for our favorites.

I've drawn a billion ideas for new Ryu Ultras/Supers, since even before even Street Fighter 4 was announced two years ago. But this idea is probably the most tame and is definitely do-able. All it is, basically, is Ryu's Focus Attack, taken to the next level. It's his Focus Attack with a large amount of energy on his fist, bursting onto the opponents face.

^ This is Ryu's finishing move done in the Street Fighter III: Ryu Final manga. Credit goes to Nakahira Masahiko for formally inventing and drawing the move. You could also say it was  unintentionally drawn in the SFII Manga, but I doubt it's the same.

I truly believe Capcom liked Masahiko's idea so much that they put it in as Ryu's SF4 Focus Attack. A few other ideas from Masahiko's Ryu Final were incoporated into the actual canon SFIII storyline. Here's another Ryu Final to SFIV reference. (Picture)

Capcom liked it so much they put it in Capcom Fighting All Stars as Ryu's "Dramatic Finish" move. Only thing was the game got scrapped and was only tested for a small period of time..

A member from shoryuken.com who I think got to play the game said: "CFAS - Ryu has a "Fatality" MK style finishing technique. I don't think he could actually use it in gameplay at all. Ryu gets in the horse stance, charges up his ki and then unleashes a massive straight punch at his opponent. A gigantic fireball/ki blast explodes off the punch and obliterates the beaten fighter."

So essentially Capcom has done a version of this move with 3-D graphics, but it was unreleased. I'd love for Ryu to have this close range Ultra. Hey if I could have my way, I'd have him grab the opponent in before doing this.

So this is the idea I had for Ryu's new Ultra. What Ultras did you imagine for your favorite character? Please tell me. Definitely let me know and post up any artwork if you want, to help explain your idea.

It's the sketch designs for Urien. But look towards the middle. There's .... SETH! No not Seth Killian, Seth the main villain from SF4.

I mean its not too hard to see where they got Seth's design from. Take Urien and Gill, give em a shave and give them a ying yang belly and you're good.

A few of the kicks and poses really do resemble Seth's. I remember seeing this on Arcade Flyers a long time ago, but that was before SFIV came out. So I thought, "Oh cool yeah I guess that's nice."

Really interesting to wonder if they looked back on this design and created Seth in SFIV... or if another artist was doodling away and came up with the same bald guy idea.

On the topic of Urien and Gill, people hate on Urien's design. I used to hate it too. Too much man thong. But comparing Urien to Gill, Urien has the perfect design for counter character to Gill. Save for a few details, if they weren't part of Street Fighter, Urien would make a great anti-hero if Gill was the main villain of some manga series.

Anyway this is just something I noticed and I think it's pretty cool to see Seth waiting to be created even 6 years back.

I finally cosplayed. And Im proud my first cosplay was as Ryu. Ryu is the man.

He's also a badass. Yeah I know he doesnt wear all the 'slickest' clothes or try to chop people up '300-wannabe' style like Kratos. But you gotta remember, you DO NOT want to get Hadouken'd by this guy.

It was great getting to talk to Sagat and El Fuerte at the festival. What other days of the year can you say you got to have a sparring session with Sagat?

I was only able to get a few pics that my little cousin shot after I got out dressed from the bathroom (Hey Ryu uses the bathroom like the rest of us.) My cousin counted over 50 people took my pic but I cant seem to find any of them online. So this is it for now.

Hopefully by next year I can totally get the look down. Hope you guys enjoyed my small tribute to the amazing Street Fighter series.
