Been thinking about my next set of costumes to work on and one of them happens to be Phoenix Wright from the Ace Attorney series while the other is Dudley.
*Imagines blank stares*
First set for mood music:
I know I don't even look like Dudley xD but man, I've seen so many mix-ups in cosplay that it seems anything is possible. Though my goal is to not make it look like its full of fail >:P
It would be somewhat my own version... sort of. I've got to attain the really dark tans I had back in the days while getting a haircut before a con to have that look. The problem is--since I don't wear wigs--I would need enough hair to have that Ryu look, since I change up the cosplays depending on the day and gathering and would most likely cosplay as both characters that same weekend.
I think the white shirt will be the easiest, as probably the rest of the outfit. Blue boxing gloves shouldn't be too much of a problem to find and a curleh mustache to use as well [:{)
Maybe I'll pay an old guy who is retired or something a few bucks and a gift card to bingo so he could cosplay as Dudley's butler for a day mwahaha....We'll see what happens!!!! >8D
Next set for mood music:
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah!!! Phoenix Wright!!!
I really hope I don't have to use a wig for this and rather just stick with my own hair. I still have yet to try and attempt the Phoenix hairstyle because I need some gel (which I haven't used or bought in ages).
I'm gonna look through thrift stores because buying a suit is expensive!!! And it turns out I really can't find a suit as sky/bright blue that Wright wears.
The only props I would use and consider are probably documented folders along with--a desk! The fake desk would cover the lower portion of my body so it can have that viewpoint just like in the game since you rarely or don't even see the characters legs in the games (except in endings and certain flashback scenes). A second one in mind is Godot o:
The biggest anime convention in DA EAST COAST! Taking place in Baltimore,Otakon was awesome, and damn huge. But since I don't really go to panels, I just go to these cons to hang out and meet/make new friends while cosplaying and repping that Street Fighter >8D
Thursday night was alright. Didn't do much but arrive late and picked up my badge that would let me in for the rest of the weekend.
Friday is when everything started. I was involved in only two gathering which happened to be the Capcom VS SNK shoot and the SF shoot. The latter I ended up hosting just throwing out ideas on what kind of pics we should take. It was fun and all I did the rest of the time was hang out and walk, walk, and walk some more.
Saturday was epic as well. I suited up in Ryu's alternate costume once again but in black. Before that though I was cosplaying as Chris Refield and took some pics in the RE gathering. The second SF shoot was just as good as Friday but the highlight of the day was meeting UDON finally and getting a sketch from Jo Chen, who was just about the friendliest personality there. Everyone was awesome (Minus Dogan), and at the end of the day I was out--slept early from being so tired.
Sunday was just a casual day where everything was closing down early and it was just about hanging out. Met a good friend there who goes by BlitzFox, who helped me with my Chris outfit, took a few pics, said goodbyes and was done. Overall it was a lot of fun. But I knew my next trip (which I took as of this writing) would be the event of...DA YEAR! And it was. Way beyond my expectations. Next stop: San Diego!
That general chat thread is missed! Not only did it connect other SF players to discuss Street Fighter, Capcom, and anything else in life, it also built friendships and maintained an excellent atmosphere throughout its tenure--but with it getting locked multiple times and what seems to be a final lock, it looks like its done for.
I'm hoping we get it back and it stays for good, I mean if it weren't for that thread I wouldn't have made the new friends I still maintain contact with, wouldn't have gotten helped when I traveled to an event within their area out of FL, and the list can go on.
It was special and I know those who wear active felt the same way. I mean I know for one that I didn't do it for points, because it can be easy to see how that is a possible reason since posts were continuous. If that was one of the main reason then I would even approve some system where they deactivate the point system, at least for me since I don't really care about all the extra, if only to keep that thread.
That can't be the reason but you never know. The only thing I do know is that I love that thread and I'm gonna hope it does come back. Sure I can post in other threads but it's not the same. The WWCR thread is what draws me the most back to this site. I'm still going to be active but not as much because it was that thread where I posted the most and stuck around because of it. It just sucks to see it not there at all anymore.
So I decided to go with the white version (color 10) simply because it looks cool and the end result is this! Which will have adjustments for other cons.
AnimeNEXT was a success! The highlight was meeting Unity members that I've talked to for a good while on here and hanging out with them. Grabbed a copy of the Street Fighter Artworks book which was priced at 54 bucks, but I ended up getting charged just a straight 50 because I think I was dressed up as Ryu xD
Overall I had a great time! Here are some pics while the rest are in my photo gallery.
Ran into Kyle Herbert on the last day of the con (when I wasn't cosplaying), and got a picture with him. He does the English voice for Ryu in SFIV. We just ended up pointing at Ryu from my copy of the SFIV Strategy guide.
Me and Balrog with the Devil May Cry crew!
With other SF cosplayers!
Mixing it up with Resident Evil cosplayers.
And below is my favorite picture of them all. And that is meeting up with Unity members Shadow and Chrono! They da best!
