This look inside the art design of DuckTales: Remastered is your guaranteed smile of the day

Jul 25, 2013 // Chris

From comics to cartoons to games, DuckTales has no shortage of material and mediums from which to draw inspiration…

In this edition of our Duckumentary series you’ll find out where WayForward took its cues from while bringing Scrooge McDuck and his buddies into the modern age. (SPOILER: One source of inspiration required the purchase of an actual cane!)

My personal favorite part of this piece is where Matt Bozon, DuckTales: Remastered’s creative director, explains why he wanted to give Magica De Spell and Flintheart Glombold extended parts in the game, because I also thought their appearances were far too brief in the original NES game. Those characters have a wonderfully rich history, so I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see them much more fleshed out now that DuckTales has cast aside its 8-bit limitations. You can catch a glimpse of an all-new, Glomgold-enhanced sequence in the latest trailer for the Himalayas level.

WOO-HOO ! DuckTales: Remastered launches starting on August 13th. Head here for all the latest updates.
