Ok so I recently got my hands on the Mega Man kit for the DS-Lite (As seen in my previous blog post) and now I would like to give everyone a closer look at what you get with the kit. Please kit in mind that this is the DS-LITE version of the kit and will NOT feature everything in the DSi version, also the protective case will be different. So keep in mind that this is the DS-Lite version, not the DSi.
- Mega Man Protection Kit for DS-Lite: Packaging -
First off, after carefully opening the package (I like to keep the packages for these type of things) you will see everything that comes in the package.
- Limited Edtion Laser Crystal Protection Screen
- Secure Compact Storage for 3 Games
- 6 Interchangeable Color Graphics Screens
- 3 Game Cases
- Limited Edition 8-Bit Mega Man Game/Mobile Screen Wiper
- Mega Man Stylus
I kept the screen wiper in the package because I'm not going to use it, even for the "Wrist strap". The case itself is pretty nice. It feels nice and solid and that only part of the DS-Lite it covers up is the Stylus slot but the case redeems itself by including a slot for your Stylus in the storage unit on the bottom of the case.
I would have used the Stylus that was included with the kit but the little badge on top of it sticks out to much and it makes it impossible to close the storage unit. But thats ok, I wasn't going to use it anyway because I didn't want to ruin it, same goes for the screen wiper ^.^
Using the 6 Interchangeable Color Graphics Screens is really simple. The top part of the case is detachable, so I took it off CAREFULLY and placed the graphic inside of it. Then I placed my DS-Lite into the top attachment of the case and it just snaps right on.
After that I CAREFULLY reattached the top part of the case making sure that I didn't break the pegs. Ta-da, I now have my new graphic art on the top of my DS-Lite.
The cool thing about this is that if you wanted to add in your own graphic art to the top of your DS-Lite, you could :P The only problem is that you would have to deal with / work around the art that is sketched into the top of the case.
Here are some more screen shots of different angles of the Mega Man kit for DS-Lite while being attached to my DS-Lite (Can we say DS-Lite again?).
One of the things I really like about this case is that fact that I can hold up to 3 addintional DS games in the bottom storage unit. This means that I can carry around my copies of Mega Man Star Force 1 & 2 while playing the third installement and still have an extra DS game I can swap out.

very nice, dude. I need one!
