All about Inti Creates, Mega Man 9 developers

Sunday, July 6, 2008, 09:26 PM CET [Megaman]

Recently, Nintendo Power's 20th anniversary special revealed Megaman 9 as a new Wiiware title. Game Radar added more info and screens, inside their Megaman week feature.

Somewhere PSN and XBLA versions also have been hinted, but Capcom stated they only announced the Wiiware version.

Well, we aren't sure about that, but we're sure our hero Keiji Inafune is behind this game. It will be developed by Inti Creates, a company founded by severall ex-Capcom employees back in 1996.

    Gunbike

Their first titles were Speed Power Gunbike (PSX, 1998) and Love & Destroy (PSX, 1999), with Sony as publisher. They also developed Kurohige no Golf Shiyouyo (GBA, 2001), published by Tomy.

Love & Destroy was popular between the manganime fans because Masakazu Katsura (Video Girl Ai, DNA, Zetman) was its character designer. Production IG also worked in this game.

    Love & Destroy.

After that, they started to work with Capcom developing at least a Mega Man title per year. These games, unlike the Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Star Force series were focused in the platformer origins of our beloved Blue Bomber.

These titles were: Mega Man Zero (GBA, 2002), Mega Man Batte Chip Challenge (GBA port of Wonderswan's Rockman EXE N1 Battle, 2003), Mega Man Zero 2 (GBA, 2003), Mega Man Zero 3 (GBA, 2004), Mega Man Zero 4 (GBA, 2005), Mega Man ZX (DS, 2006), Mega Man ZX Advent (DS, 2007).

Between that, they developed 3 titles for the publisher Takara: Crayon Shin-Chan Arashi no Yobu Cinema-Land no Daibouken! (GBA, 2004), Crayon Shin-Chan Densetsu o Yobu Omake no To Shukkugaan! (GBA, 2006), Crayon Shin-Chan DS: Arashi o Yobu (DS, 2007).

They also developed for Bandai the games Fantastic Children (GBA, 2005) -based in the manga/anime of the same name-, and Eureka 7 V.1: New Wave (PSP, 2007) - based in the mecha-fuelled anime series Eureka Seven -.

Inti Creates also created severall music CD's made by their music team III: Sound Create Unit, formed by:

    • Luna Umegaki : Mega Man Zero from 2 to 4, Wave Rally, Hot Shots Golf 2, Legend of Dragoon, Guardian’s Crusade.
    • Tsutomu Kurihara : Mega Man Zero from 2 to 4,, Mega Man ZX, Wave Rally.

Ryuusei no Rockman 3 release rate revealed

Tuesday, June 17, 2008, 12:28 AM CET [Megaman]

Gpara informs Ryuusei no Rockman 3 (Megaman Star Force 3) will be released in Japan next "winter 08". The first video will be showed in the Capcom's booth of the World Hobby Fair '08 Summer. The game will feature up to 7players wi-fi multiplayer.

Looks like it will be the last episode in the series. Maybe because the series would come back to its roots? Who knows, let's wait and see.

MEGATONISH RUMOR : Megaman 9 on the way?

Sunday, June 15, 2008, 04:23 PM CET [Megaman]

Back in January, we posted this in our Spanish blog. Someone in Neogaf thinked a Megaman 9 would be planned since he saw this new classic Megaman illustration (click to enlarge) in the last page of the Megaman's 20th anniversary book :

Now, a few months later, in the videogames registration site of the Australian Government (something like the Australian PEGI / ESRB) appears Megaman 9 registered by Capcom as a multiplatform game.

And Destructoid told more things about this RUMOR : "Mega Man 9 is fully in the works. It gets announced in 2008. The series will introduce new characters, provide online multiplayer, and will have leaderboards. The game will be hitting the Xbox 360 on Live and the PlayStation 3 on PSN. For those of you in Japan, don't worry. The series is coming to you also in the form of Rockman. Oh no! They see me. I have to go now."

IGN said there are a couple of unnamed new Capcom titles to be announced in the upcoming E3. Would be this one of them?
