Zack and Wiki is nearly perfect, except for one flaw...the game unfairly punishes you for your curiosity. Often you just are trying to figure things out and some arbitrary action kills you and  you have to start over. Would a single warning be so bad?

For example, pressing a button shoots out a blast of cold and kills you. The first time you press it, zack jumps out of the way in time. Press it again, and your dead. Next time learn.

That and if you want it to be a bit more successful, try to westernize it just a bit and make it a bit less kiddy.

I agree with being able to hold multiple items.  Also more elaborate and bigger levels would be great.  Wouldn't mind some co-op either. I think that would work very well.

I just bought the game and I'm really enjoying it. Apart from what you guys mentioned here are the things I would add.

First of all being a pirate game I would heavily involve a pirate ship. The basic premise would be that the ship is the base (hideout) where you get the chance to communicate with the rest of the crew etc. Apart from this the ship would take the mariners across the ocean from one Island to the other. This would usually involve also one or more mini games on the ship. For example steering the ship (a la Mario Kart), manning the cannon during an attack from Rose, fixing holes in the hull etc.

As all of you mentioned I would have Zack & Wiki carry all the "treasures" they find. Wiki would act as a kind of magical storage (Doraemon anyone?). So when Zack finds for the first time a centi-saw, Wiki will stow it for future use.

Next I would include a hub in each area which would connect the various stages, this would serve several purposes. Firstly the levels would not feel so "disjoint", secondly the hub in itself would contain small treasures and hidden items, thirdly one could have more story unfold during action in the hub area.

I would also have the stages divided into section, this way one would visit a stage and be able to only collect only one part of the treasure or only a key, this would open up a section in another stage. Since items can be carried around, this will open up new sections of the stages along the way.

Being two characters with different abilities I would give the player the possibility to control both seperately. For example since Wiki can fly, one could send it across a ravine to retrieve an item and take it back to Zack, or as one of you suggested give him the possibilty (as unlockables) to change to other shapes (for example shrink) to open up more sections. I would also include other characters, for example the captain, since he is big and strong he could help out in the more heavy duty stuff. The player could switch between the characters and some levels could be specially design for one character (Zack and Wiki have been captured and the captain comes to rescue). This would also help the co-op play, as each player would be able to take control of a seperate character.

Lastly one could also add some quick-time sections to some stages. This way adding some fast-paced action to the usually more thoughtful pace of the game. The game would also benefit from Wii MotionPlus since some motions are a innacurate at the moment.

Actually this would be just the beginning, since the game has so much potential for growth since its already so amazingly addictive. Let's hope we are rewarded with a sequel!
