That's a lot of copies for a little niche game with no advertising.

There was advertising. Just not as much as it deserved... I only was able to see a print ad in a kids magazine and that's about it. And only because my niece got a subscription to Nickelodeon magazine.

And if you think that was amazing for a game selling with no advertising, then you must consider it amazingly incredibulous that The Umbrella Chronicles is almost at 1 million units sold. Considering there really was not much advertising for that game.

Word of mouth does wonders it seems... :D

"Next-Gen consoles (Xbox 360 & PS3) are simply that, what came "next". That is, they're merely a continuation of what came before. You play games the same old way, using a similar control scheme. New-Gen consoles (Wii) aren't required to use new technology to be new. They can use old technology but in a NEW way. And that's the difference between Next and New gen"--Meristation

Just to temper your enthusaism a bit, that figure is a worldwide figure. We obviously managed to ship a good deal of that in the US (despite the Internet's claims that "we shipped no units"), but unfortnately, we've also already had to price protect it (it's down to $29.95, so if you haven't bought it yet, you've got no excuse...).

We have a few other activities coming up that we're hoping will help move through.

And please stop with the "no marketing" stchick. It's beyond old. As I've stated many times, there's been a lot of marketing for Z&W (just not TV).

I must say, Sven, I'm at a loss at how to interpret your last post. when you say "Curb your enthusiasm"...

...do you mean curb our enthusiasm for it's success, because you really don't think it's that amazing (which would not bode well)...

...or that we should curb our enthusiasm for the game itself, because it's doing just fine and you tire of us pointing fingers at you because it hasn't sold a bazillion copies?

No, he's tired of us making cracks about not advertising their Wii games.

And very few games, even established franchises, sell a "bazillion copies" these days. For instance, not everyone that owns a 360 bought the last Halo game. Only a small % of them did. I mean, you have a user base of 20-22 million and only 5 million copies of Halo 3 got sold. You would think it deserved to sell a "bazillion" considering that "analysts" always claim that the 360 is made up almost entirely of "hardcore gamers"... or is it?  :p

Thing is, these days videogames have to compete with other stuff that saps consumers money. Thus Zack & Wiki selling 300,000 copies is actually good numbers. IMO, that is.

Considering all 4 of my gaming magazines had advertising for it, I wuldn't say its a "little niche' game."  Also, a lot of people didn't purchase the game because it looked too childish.  Not me of course.  :P
