It's been further price protected to $19.99 at most major retailers. If you don't have it, there really is no better game on the platform for that price.

I actually tried to order it over a month ago and I was told it was out of stock and that it would ship when available. NOW, however, I get this response: Thank you for your recent order. Unfortunately, the item(s) listed below |

Capcom only prints so many copies of the games, its actually good in the video game business to not overshot/underscore demand for obvious reasons. However there are pitfalls, those 'late to the party' might have to settle for a 2nd hand copy.

Hands down, this is the best $20 Wii purchase I have made. I am dying for more content, characters, enemies etc. Please, please make a sequel. |

Sven, do you believe a little more advertising would have sold more and increased the profit/userbase? It seems to me still this is a great game no one knoes, which does not sound good for a new IP that could have stablished a larger fan-crowd. I mean, Capcom came a long way to make a nice product, but then it seems to have no faith in it. I'm not trying to bug you. I just wanna know at what level my expectations for a sequel such really be. If the belief in this game's potencial is low, I guess I should have no hope. It took a look of effort, it looked great, it had small advertising and "hyping" and small sales, and likely any sequel will be treated the same way... so no sequel. |

A good friend of mine owns a game shop and loves this game! but still people come to the shop kicking games that they eighter seen on TV (or their kids have) or they pick a game that looks like an adventure game. and when he gets people at his desk and they ask what kind of game it is they put it back because they wanted something like a zelda puzler and not a lvl puzler. Still He does try to sell this game (here in europe its stil 30,- tough) but people are not buying it for the high price they are just not buying it do to the Puzle and no adventure factor. atleast that is what my friend says
I do see these things happen in the store with a lot of other Wii games to. and the most asked question for the Wii at this moment is: hey does the Wii have more adventure games like zelda to? |

Pretty silly to be advertising much in gaming magazines. This is the era of the internet, while I'm sure a lot of people still read them, I don't know if it's enough to consider great advertising. Here's my issues with Zack & Wiki. 1. The art style. I think Capcom might believe that this new audience is a bunch of 8 year olds, but I think the reality is that it's probably older adults that don't play games seriously like some of us do. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure some 8 year olds own and play the console, but giving a game an art style like this is an instant turn off. Really, if I hadn't heard about how good this game was from other hardcore gamers, I would have taken one look at the cover and ignored this game like the plague. 2. I hate having to redo things. Sounds confusing, but let me explain. In one part of Zack & Wiki, you get a stick and light it on fire in order to see a puzzle that you have to complete. This is all fine and dandy, until I'm doing the puzzle and all of a sudden the fire goes out. Now I have to repeat that step of the puzzle. Personally, I like progression, unless I die (then I restart the stage, because it was my mistake that caused the death anyway), I really don't want to be interrupted while I'm trying to figure something out. 3. The voices and sounds... Especially of Wiki. I don't think I have to explain this. The gameplay itself was well done, though. And to be honest, I don't think you should give up on this type of genre, but I think you need to rethink how you do it. A character doesn't have to look wacky to be cool to people of all ages. In fact, making a wacky looking character is probably a huge turn off this day and age. It may have worked in the 80s, but we aren't in the 80s. How about this as an idea? Good.
Bad.
No offence to Detective Conan, of course. :D Sorry if my post is a little unorganized. I kind of post my thoughts as it gushes out. >_< |

According to VGChartz, sales are up to 540k. I think that's pretty damn good, considering the scope and budget. And I think Capcom jumped too fast of the boat by lowering the prices so fast. Heck, Excite Truck sold horribly at the beggining, but it still pushes some units, at 50 dollars, two years after launch. Low prices usually means bad game, and drives some sales off (considering that the game already lacks appeal to any audience).
And I just don't understand, Sven: No More Heroes sold much less, and seems to be a higher budgeted title than Zack and Wiki. Still, they are making a higher budgeted sequel. Why isn't a sequel for Z&W to be expected?
I think the problem is with both gameplay and advertising. Puzzlers aren't attractive, even less for kids. And the game is marketed for kids, that can't solve the first puzzle in the game. |
