    Give thanks to the Legends.

Wednesday, October 7, 2009, 06:56 PM PST [General]

I'm really looking forward to Lost planet 2 and in my eager anticipation, I realised, Lost planet 2 is very much so like another game that I loved to play. Megaman Legends.

Megaman Legends sticks in my mind because it was unique. The only other game I feel that has captured the same gameplay feel is Lost Planet. Go figure because their both made by capcom.

Now granted I have no idea what i'm talking about. But I feel as if we owe Lost Planet to Megaman Legends. Megaman is a pioneer and legends was a bold move that, if i'm not mistaken wasn't recieved too well here in North America. But without this bold new step, this dip into the 3rd person action vs epic and huge bosses. I dont think Lost planet would be the same awesomeness as it is today.

I went to the internetz and got some pictures to draw up a comparison. I call the first pics. Run and Gun.

    And theres some epic bosses.

I did not feel like getting a ton more pics, but you get the point. From a gameplay point of view the games feel the same to me. And that feeling is good.

So if you enjoy Lost Planet, or if your looking forward to Lost planet 2. Take a moment to look back and give some respect to the game that laid that sweet foundation.

    Megaman Legends I salute you!

    Time to pull the Trigger.

Monday, February 23, 2009, 05:18 PM PST [Megaman]

    Megaman Trigger that is.

I am a fan of Megaman. My earliest memories are of playing Megaman and Megaman2 in my parents living room. let's just say from that moment on I was hooked. I still own a cartridge of each of the 6 NES games. As time went on, Megaman X came and I loved that too. It was faster paced edgier and more stylized. Let's just say the only games I didnt care for were the battle network and similar games for the handhelds. I even threw down some of my money to get a copy of Megaman X:Command Mission.

My point is, I love the old school retro Megaman games. I love the sidescrolling platformers, but that era is dead. Everything is different now. The only other branch on the tree of Megaman that bore fruit that was both delicious and exciting was Legends. I loved that game, the style, the combat, I loved building new weapons and exploring dungeons.

Trigger needs to return. With the power games have these days it could be visually stunning. Lots of secrets and extras to find, it would be too much to handle.

Megaman Legends has the potential to bring a fully satisfying game to those megaman fans out there who dont want to play with net navi's or whatever the battle network mumbo jumbo is.  I want to see megaman all grown up, digging for artifacts, fighting pirates and saving the world.

    Eternally hopefull,

    Zenny
