Yo, Devroom. Grega Man here. While the dev team is off gallivanting about for Golden Week, I thought I’d take the time to show you a thing or two about Barrett, newcomer to the Legends series and star of the upcoming Prototype Version.
Barrett–Who is he? Where did he come from? Is this what’s become of Cyber Akuma? Did Data get taller and grow a ponytail?
Well, one thing I know for sure: Barrett’s got all the right moves. Let’s have a look at some of the stuff you’ll be able to do as him. Vids and pics after the jump!
Running Around – Okay, so we’ll start simple. The Legends games have always had a bit of free-roaming experience, with vast towns and islands to explore, and lots of little Easter eggs crammed into every little nook and cranny, as Easter eggs are oft to be crammed. But with all that wandering exploring to do, it sure helps to be super mobile. Luckily, Barrett is just that, even when he’s off his flying motorcycle. I think you’ll find yourself having plenty of fun just running around.
And you may even find yourself in a dungeon or two.
The Kick – It just wouldn’t be a Mega Man Legends game if you couldn’t go on senseless kicking sprees. Barrett puts his whole body into this move. Is that the legendary can I see there?
Biking – Unlike the bikes commonly ridden by you and me, Barrett’s bike can fly, even when its maximum occupancy has been well exceeded. It’s no wonder he’s so popular with the ladies.
Combat – I bet at least a few fans out there had a feeling combat would be making a return for this sequel. It is, after all, a major part of just about every game ever made. But what you might not have known is that Barrett’s combat is largely improved from what we’ve seen in previous Legends titles. Much more fast-paced, Barrett’s combat also features a good sense of balance, allowing for both long-ranged gun attacks and short-ranged hand-to-hand moves. Not to mention new special weapons!
You’ll need to use everything at your disposable to take on the Bonne Mecha!
Wall-Running – Check it out–Barrett can scale walls!
Well, that’s all for this post. What are you looking forward to trying out? Leave a comment!
